262 Cigars Allegiance – Rough Cut Cigar Review

  • 262 ALLEGIANCE

Today we offer the Stogie Press Rough Cut cigar review notes on the 262 Cigars  Allegiance cigar. I received samples of the Allegiance from 262 Cigars at the 2015 IPCPR. I would like to thank Clint Aaron, Founder of 262 Cigars and his team for the sample. According to the 262 Cigars website:

Allegiance is meant to take on a stronger tone. State by state, town by town, and at the Federal level too, we are seeing a growing opposition to our cigar culture. Attacks are being made on all sides; industry, tradition, and art. Their intentions are clear, the line has been drawn, and it’s time to declare a side

The 262 Cigars Allegiance is available in 10 count boxes and  2 vitolas:

  • Robusto – 5 x 50
  • Toro (Box Pressed) -6 x 54

The 262 Cigars Allegiance blend is described as:

  • Wrapper – Brazilian Mata-Fina
  • Binder – Nicaragua
  • Filler – Nicaragua, Honduras

For this review I sampled the 262 Cigars Allegiance Robusto

  • Med brown wrapper with light veins
  • Slight sheen
  • Large sleeve band
  • Hated the difficulty of the band removal
  • Earthy Pre-light aroma
  • Initial notes upon ignition are earth and nut with a hint of pepper
  • Some coffee a sliver of dried fruit enter
  • Very smooth smoke
  • The coffee is more pronounced after a half-inch
  • Touch of spice enters in the background
  • Slight wave to burn
  • Medium grey ash
  • Chocolate aroma developing and sweetness entering profile
  • Spice continues to build
  • Medium plus
  • Tight draw
  • Medium smoke production
  • Ash fell after an inch touch up
  • End of first third primarily coffee and spice
  • Wave picks up again
  • Flavors blend at the half way point
  • Ash drops frequently
  • Crack on the end probably due to removing the tightly adhered sleeve
  • Draw opened up after half way and smoke production increases
  • Wave is manageable
  • Flavors seem to die down in the final third
