Blanco Cigars – NINE Robusto – Cigar Review

During the winter, i was on assigment in Detroit Michigan. This particular night it was was a balmy 18 degrees F here in Dearborn Michigan. I decided to take my dog for a stroll and fire up one of the Blanco Cigars – NINE Robusto that the Blanco Cigar company was kind enough to send me to rate. The NINE is a well constructed robusto. It has three different ligero leaves as filler, bound with leaf from the Jalapa Valley in Nicaragua and beautifully wrapped with Oscuro Corojo wrapper grown in Nicaragua.

The pre-light draw was earthy and a bit woody. As I fired it up, I got draws of rich creamy smoke. The ash was dark grey and even throughout the burn. Due to the cold weather I was not going to try to carry the ash but it did easily run a good inch to start. The first inch was flavored with earth and hints of coffee with a gentle spice on the palate. The spice continued but the coffee was a bit more pronounced as I got into the second half. This balance of spicy coffee continued throughout with a mild undertone of wood and a light sprinkle of sweetness, almost cocoa flavor. The finish was just as good as the journey.

Nice Job Blanco
