Villiger Cuellar Connecticut Kreme – Cigar Review

Villiger Cuellar Connecticut KrēmēIt’s a beautiful Sunday morning here in Florida as I sit out on the patio firing up a Villiger Cuellar Connecticut Krēmē to enjoy with my morning coffee. I just got back from Detroit Friday night and off I go again today, but for this solitude hour, I relax with my stogie, coffee, and dog Ziggy listening to the sound of birds chirping in the warm Florida breeze.

The Villiger Cuellar Connecticut Krēmē is a silky smooth, tan Ecuadoran Connecticut shade wrapped cigar that starts with a slight bitterness and a mild nasal burn on first light. The ash is solid and the burn line straight. The rest of the blend includes Cuban seed Dominican piloto ligero binder and Dominican Cuban-seed and Criollo ’98 filler.

I like the design of the band on the Krēmē . White and gold with the word Cuellar centered in a script font with golden wings on both sides. There are six small stars and one larger star across the top with a golden crown centered on the bottom. There is a secondary band that identifies this as the Connecticut Krēmē . The name is quite apropos as the smoke is quite creamy now well into the 1st third. The retro hale has become delicately smooth and there is a background of sweet nut flavor coming in. The ash is medium gray and holding strong to a crisp burn line. The ash finally fell after the 1st third.

So far the Krēmē is  mild to medium smoke with a full volume of smoke production. The draw is perfect. The nut flavor is getting more pronounced and there is  sweet floral aroma filling the warm morning air. Into the second third the wrapper is starting to oil up. I must say, the Krēmē is a delightful smoke at this stage.

The ash picked up again and holds on tight through the second third and there is a hint of spice developing on my tongue. The flavor is blending well with my morning coffee. I feel the Krēmē would pair even better with a Cafe Cubana. The strength has increased a notch in the final third. While the flavor remains constant. The Villiger Cuellar Connecticut Krēmē is not a complex cigar but delivers a balanced set of flavor with a consistent amount of rich creamy smoke.

Overall this is a fine cigar that any smoker would enjoy as the first smoke of the day.

I purchased the Krēmē at my local B&M – Jimmy’s Cigar Lounge in Melbourne FL.
