La Flor Dominicana La Nox – Guest Cigar Review

LFD La Nox

LFD La Nox

La Flor Dominicana La Nox is a 6.5×50 parejo, constructed with Brazilian wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and Dominican fillers. The Brazilian wrapper is dark, toothy, oily with visible seams giving it the appearance that it was brushed with a dark wood stain. It is very firmly rolled with no soft spots.

Initial lighting brings sweet spice, bright citrus and rich cocoa which all come together to make a most interesting flavor profile; much different than your typical LFD. The La Nox is a smooth smoke to start with a fairly clean finish. Palate stimulation is quite mild making this a easy, smooth smoke.

Ash is near white, firm with nearly zero flake. Combustion line is so thin it is barely visible. Draw is medium which is perfect for such a firmly rooted stick..

Second third brings smooth milk chocolate, sweet spice and a mild pepper bite on the retro-hale. Finish continues to be clean; palate stimulation continues to be very mild.

Final third and La Nox becomes even smoother. Milk chocolate and sweet spice persist but become richer with mild lemon zest on the finish.

This is NOT your typical La Flor Dominicana. I expected a blast of pepper somewhere but instead it was smooth and rich; a great relaxing, flavorful smoke. Medium bodied at an $11 price point.
