The 12th Annual No Joke Smoke Dinner was held on 3/30/19 and hosted by Kalani Matsuura from Mokuleia Cigar Company. I was not able to attend but Kalani was kind enough to provide a recap of the event and photos.
The No Joke Smoke Dinner is one of the few cigar events in Honolulu that is hosted by a small business owner. The dinner is a festive event and this year’s theme was Tiki/Luau Party. Our guests always provide us with great energy as many of them dress up to the events theme.
Helping us celebrate the dinner were Holly and Ryan Rodriguez from Ohana/Left Hand Cigars. Featured cigars were:
- Ohana Pulse Habano
- Ohana Pulse Maduro
- Ohana M13
- Left Hand Blurred Lines
- Left Hand Lefthander
- Ultra Limited Ohana No Joke Smoke Exclusivo
Each guest was treated to dinner, 5 cigars and 2 beers. Hawaiian food was provided by Restaurant 604. Guests smoked their share of Ohana/Left Hand Cigars and some even brought their own personal stash of habanos.
One of the goals of the dinner is for our guests to give back to the community. Each year our guests generously donate thousands of canned foods which were donated to the Hawaii Food Bank. Each canned food donated allows our guests to enter a raffle and win amazing prizes. The grand prizes this year included ST Dupont lighters, Tom Ford sunglasses, Wineadors, Siglo travel cases, Siglo ashtrays and three Siglo humidors valued around $1000 each.
No Joke Smoke Dinner was possible due to the support from Bernie Leong/Havana Club Honolulu, Dave Suzuki/Urbane Cigars, Keane Tanaka/Aloha Tobacco, Devina and Donovan/Restaurant 604, Don Baduria/sounds, Joshua Javier/photographer and most importantly our guests who attended.
Family & Fellowship
Ohana in the Hawaiian language means family and the Hawaii smoke community embraced Holly and Ryan to our Hawaii smoking ohana. The dinner was a great success with amazing fellowship, cigars, food, drinks and prizes. No Joke Smoke 2020, whose next?
