March, 12 2017

For all  you Lancero fans out there, Enrique Sánchez, founder of Global Premium Cigars the 1502 Cigar brand has announced today that the company will be shipping the next vitola in the limited 1502 XO line. The latest release of the 1502 XO, will be a 7 x 40 box pressed Lancero that is sure to please as well as the original 1502 XO Toro that was released in 2016. The company made only 1502 boxes for that release and it was met with rave reviews.

Enrique explains the 1502 XO:

“I have always strived for perfection in my life. Perfection cannot always be rushed. The 1502 XO achieves the perfect balance of flavor and strength, attained, in large part, by the use of well aged, rare 18-year-old tobacco. Let the 1502 XO, our masterpiece, help you relax and enjoy the wonders of what life has to offer.”

The “XO” stands for extremely old as the leaf used in the filler of this beauty is 18 years old. This time, the Lancero release will be extremely limited with just a little more than 200 boxes of ten cigars being produced. Without going into the details of the blend, I was told it is 90% Nicaraguan using that 18-year-old tobacco except the wrapper.

Enrique informed me that the MSRP on this years release is set at $16.00/Cigar. All 1502 retailers that carry the company’s other 5 blends will be eligible to carry the 1502 XO Lancero.
