The Rock-A-Feller Art of Magic Cardician, is the 2nd expression of the Limited-Edition Art of Magic series. A Cardician is a Master of Card Magic. The owner of the company, Kevin Shwietzer, is a Magician himself and loves to do card tricks that will blow your mind. For the art work, Kevin once again reached out to famed cigar artist – Jessi Flores who did an outstanding job on the imagery of the box and band for the new line.
This all-new blend is made at American Caribbean and has blend described as:
- Wrapper – Ecuadorian Cameroon
- Binder – Nicaraguan
- Filler – Nicaraguan
The Art of Magic Cardician is expressed in a single box-pressed, (6 x 52) Toro vitola. They come packaged in a specially designed 10-count boxes that will look and open like a deck of cards. This cigar is truly a limited edition with only 4,000 cigars produced.
MSRP has been around $15 – $16 per cigar before local taxes.
For this review I sampled three of these which I received from the company for the purpose of reviewing on Stogie Press.
Pre-Light Examination
The Art of Magic Cardician is cloaked in a nice smooth box pressed, dark tan wrapper. It is fairly solid with just a little give along the barrel. A well applied cap finishes the presentation.
Two bands adorn the Cardician . The primary band uses a red, gold and black motif that proudly displays “Art of Magic” across the bend surrounded by artistic scrolls. A secondary footer band declarers it as the “Cardician – Limited Edition – Rock-A-Feller Cigars”
Running the cigar along the nose I picked up spice and chocolate notes along the wrapper while the foot exuded notes of pepper and earth off the foot.
I used my Baller cutter by CigarMedics to open the cap and proceeded to give it some cold draw puffs that I found to be nicely restricted and offered notes of peppery earth.
I used a cedar spill to warm the foot and drew in the first puffs of peppery spice notes to start the journey. Follow along as I burn this one to ash.
Cigar Review Notes
- Early start of peppery spice
- Loose light grey ash forms on top of a thick wavy char line
- Touch of nut joins the mix to add some dimension
- Ash drops early revealing a decent burn cone
- Smooth smoke after 1st third with less pepper and an added citrus
- Natural sweetness join the mix midway
- Ash falls again
- Spice notes morph into a cinnamon note moving through the second third
- Not much development down to the final other than a slight earthiness
- Medium Strength
- Total smoking Time was 1 hour and 35 minutes
Final Analysis
The Rock-A-Feller Cigars – Limited-Edition Art of Magic Cardician is a decent cigar to start the day with a morning cup of coffee. The cigar started with a blast of peppery spice and little nuttiness and then morphed into sweetness and cinnamon though most of the cigar. Though not one dimensional it is not a full and complex body cigar thereby a fine 1st cigar of the day. It had a decent burn but the ash was loose and fell often through the journey, which was noticeable on all 3 samples I tried. This is one I would say is worth trying one of. I rate this a 90.
