The last stop I made while visiting Nashville in August, was Casa de Montecristo. Honestly, I did not think I would have time to get there, but I found a way, and my son Dominic and I started a Friday evening in Nashville with cigars and tall pours of port wine.
Namon Anderson, one of my Facebook brothers of the leaf, works at Casa de Montecristo and texted me that he would be working on Friday night. So being my last night in Nashville, Dominic and I trekked over to check out the lounge. I think Dom may be back again for sure.
The Lounge
Casa de Montecristo – Nashville is located in a quiet part of the city on the edge of what is known as “The Gulch”. Like many revitalized city areas, “The Gulch” was originally the home to industrial buildings and warehouses and now has transformed into an upscale neighborhood that is home to boutique hotels and trendy restaurants.
We pulled up to Casa de Montecristo around 8 PM. The lounge is located in a building that is set back off 9th Avenue South. There is parking in a lot located in front of the lounge and also on the street. Being a Friday night, parking was full, so we ended up parking in a pay lot just down the street and strolled over to meet Brother Namon.
As you walk up to the Casa de Montecristo – Nashville you enter into a dimly lit, seating room just outside the large walk-in humidor. The area has plenty of leather seating and is a quiet, comfortable spot to relax and enjoy a cigar. Walking past the humidor you enter the main part of the lounge that has additional seating and a fully stocked bar in the back. There are ample flat screen TVs for your viewing enjoyment. Both areas are clean and neat. The lounge has an industrial feel to it with the exposed HVAC ducts and painted cement floors.
The Humidor
The humidor is quite large and staffed with an attendant tobacconist to assist you in selecting your cigar du jour. The outside of the humidor is neatly framed with windows all around and double mahogany doors to enter. There is plenty to choose from at Casa de Montecristo – Nashville, ranging from the big brands to boutique. Of course they feature Montecristo and also carry Nashville’s own – Crowned Heads. I found the prices to be quite reasonable.
Membership – Rewards – Events
As we selected our cigars for the night, I took some time to speak to Namon and talk about what that the lounge has to offer. Besides the wide selection of cigars, ample bar selections, and comfortable seating – he told me they run monthly events and offer two membership tiers.
Gold Membership
- 10% off all purchases
- Special monthly VIP only deals
- Advance notice and special VIP pricing on events
- 20% off room/space rental on party packaging
- Gratis cigar tastings
Platinum Membership
Same as Gold Membership plus:
- 1 free room rental per year
- Annual VIP 25% off sale
- Private humidified locker
They also have a rewards program that provide you the opportunity to earn points toward a redeemable certificate for cigars and accessories. 5% of your total purchase cost goes towards redeemable points. After spending $250.00 you receive a certificate that is valid for 60 days from the issue date. The program is free, so if you are a regular Casa de Montecristo customer you should sign up for this.
We settled in the outer room to fire up our cigars and were greeted by the waitress who took our drink order. Dom and I decided on some Tawny Port to start the night and when she brought the drinks to us I was shocked at the size of the pour. This was no simple pour but rather a full wine glass, not a port wine glass. Wow! It only cost $10.00 too. I found the staff to be friendly and attentive, always checking on us if we needed anything else.

In Closing
Casa de Montecristo – Nashville is a lounge that has an awesome laid back vibe to it. The service was excellent, from the bartender, waitress, and humidor attendants. The lounge is clean with ample seating and even the bathroom was spotless. The drink selection is extensive as is the cigar availability. This is a must stop if you visit Nashville.
