Cigar Lounge Review – His and Hers Cigar Lounge – Cocoa Village Florida

For those of you that are unfamiliar with some of the cool little areas of Florida, Cocoa Village is this beautiful, old Florida, downtown section just off the iconic Indian River. It truly is an enchanting place with a rich cultural heritage with an array of shops, culinary delights, and even a riverfront park. This is not Cocoa Beach, which is a separate place across the causeway on the beach.

For many years, I would venture up to the village to experience the number of restaurants, but the one thing that was truly missing, was an authentic cigar lounge. There is an English Tavern – George and Dragon – that has a small humidor and allows smoking on its outside patio. They even host a monthly cigar meeting known as the Montecristo Cigar Night.

That is all changed now that husband and wife team; Carmen and Luis Torres have moved into town. The couple, who hail from Allentown, PA by way of Puerto Rico and NYC were the owners of a mobile cigar lounge they started back in 2021. Family issues got them to move to Central Florida and it did not take them long to realize that Cocoa Village would be an ideal place for a brick-and-mortar cigar lounge. Both Luis and Carmen are extremely knowledgeable in cigars and can help both new and seasoned enthusiasts find the perfect cigar to suit there palate.

Carmen and Luis Torres

This past week was the culmination of months of passionate labor to build out one of the Space Coast’s beautiful cigar lounges. The official grand opening of the His and Hers cigar lounge was Saturday. October 5, 2024 and I was there to cover the event.

The Lounge

The lounge is absolutely beautiful in its layout and decor. There is ample seating throughout the space with blue, black, and brown pleated leather chairs and couches. I love how the arrangement offers various seating areas so different groups of patrons can gather and converse. On that topic, owner, Luis Torres explained that they opted for only one television because he wanted people to be able sit and have conversation instead of being fixated on the TV’s. I applaud him for this decision, and it works well. Lighting is accented with chandeliers providing for a classy look to the lounge.

They have numerous smoke eaters strategically placed throughout the areas along with plenty of ashtrays offering a clean smoking environment. The wall hangings throughout the lounge tell a number of stories. Just ask Luis or Carmen and they will be pleased to walk you through their history. They also offer a small collection of accessories which they said will grow over time.

Even the bathroom is clean and neatly apportioned which is one of my pet peeves about lounges. keep your bathroom clean always and His and Hers does just that!

The lounge is currently working on securing a beer and wine license in the near future, but in the meantime, they offer a collection of soft drinks.

Membership Program

They also have a Locker Membership Program that costs $900/year ($75/month) and provides the member with:

  • $25.00 in store credit/month
  • 2 house cigars every month
  • 10% off all purchases
  • Humidified locker with a personal cutter
  • 2 member only dinner events (summer and Christmas)
  • First dibs on event purchases and Private events.
  • With the store credit and house cigars it works out to be about $30.00/month

The Humidor

The walk-in humidor is located in the back of the lounge and offers a decent collection of cigars. As a brand-new establishment, the couple are working to add more accounts and facings to the humidor. I was pleased to see they carry a number of large and small brands already. In fact, they carry DBL Cigars, which is a brand that is hard to find down here in Florida and is one of my favorite small brands on the market. They also have a relation with Cordoba y Morales, an iconic Central Florida brand. DBL and Cordoba y Morales produce the shops house blends, all of which are excellent. If you are one who prefers flavored cigars, they have some special blends to suit your need.

Cigar Rolling Events

Owner Carmen Torres has been trained by DBL Cigars owner – Francisco Almonte to roll cigars. She has her own rolling table and regularly does rolling events at the shop, like during this event.

If the grand opening was a sign of what future events will be like, I look forward to attending more of them. They had a tasty layout of meats, cheeses, fruits, cookies, snacks and croissants along with some refreshing sangria to add to the pleasure. If you are in the area, this is a must visit lounge in my book and I expect to add it to my rotation of lounge visits locally.
