Located close by Miami International Airport, Christopher Mey has over three decades of experience in the importation and exportation of goods to over 100 countries on five continents.

The flagship brand in the company’s portfolio is Esteban Carreras Cigars, known for its exceptional craftsmanship and unique blends. Owned by Craig Cunningham of Dana Point, California, Esteban Carreras has been a staple in the United States market for 20 years and is now expanding its reach globally.

During a ten-year period, Christopher Mey trained under Nestor Plasencia Sr. and Nestor Andreas Plasencia in the growing, curing, and fermentation of tobacco including the sorting and selecting of premium tobacco leaf, and the high-quality construction of cigars.

Christopher’s professional experience includes his 21 years as Director of Global Business Development for Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, Inc. He joined team in 2003 when the company was known as Indian Tabac Cigar Company and has been involved in all aspects of bringing cigars to the market including Accounts Receivable Manager, Purchasing Manager, Production Manager, Logistics Manager, Cigar Factory Tour Manager, Territory Sales Manager, and Director of Global Business Development. In the early days, Rocky, Christopher and the team spent many weekends at each other’s homes grilling food and enjoying cigars. This is when Rocky met Irma Mey, Christopher’s wife, and she joined the RP company as Accounts Receivable Manager.

Prior to being in the cigar business, Christopher Mey spent ten years leading the finance team for the Division of Continuing Professional Education at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, the state’s premier technological research university. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Kean University, a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a Degree in Computer Network Engineering from the Chubb Institute. His interests include spending quality time with his family. His wife Irma Mey and their four daughters Monica, Michelle, Samantha and Sophia are avid clay target shooters.
