For the second consecutive year, Crowned Heads will be joining a select group of premium cigar companies to release a cigar made exclusively for attendees of the annual PCA Convention and Trade Show.
The Crowned Heads PCA 2022 Exclusive, Sfumato in C Major, draws its inspiration from a Renaissance art technique made popular by Leonardo da Vinci. Sfumato is a pictorial technique for softening the transition between colors, creating an image that has no lines or edges, producing a soft hazy effect. The word sfumato comes from the Italian language and is. derived from fumo (“smoke”).
Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber commented:
“Sfumato is somewhat of a departure for us. I saw where we were heavier in the darker wrappers, the medium-to-full lane, and I just wanted something different; I wanted something that would be perfect with a morning cup of coffee or compliment an afternoon glass of chilled Rosé. Essentially, the goal was to create a blend with no edges, just a flavor profile that was easily approachable, smooth, and with exquisite balance. I knew that this Connecticut hybrid wrapper would get us to where we wanted to go, so that is where the C (“Connecticut”) Major allusion is derived from.”
Sfumato in C Major is a (6 3/4″ x 48) parejo that has a blend described as:
- Wrapper – Ecuadorian (Connecticut hybrid)
- Binder – Ecuadorian (Sumatra)
- Filler – Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Peru
Packaged in 20-count cabinet boxes, Sfumato in C Major will have a suggested retail price of $10.95 per cigar. Sfumato in C Major is manufactured at Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua, home to such Crowned Heads brands as Juarez, Mil Dias, and Serie E.
