Cigar News: E.P. Carrillo Announces an Average 5% Price Increase on MSRP

Starting February 1st, 2023, E.P. Carrillo will be increasing the price of their prized cigars. The company notes that they always strive to balance the value of their cigars to both the retailer and consumer, along with the ever-increasing costs to manufacture their products for everyone.

The company has done its best to keep prices firm and stable, for as long as possible, before taking an increase that has become necessary this year. It should be noted that although the some prices at the manufacturing end, are higher as a percent increase, and the company chose to absorb those extra costs as part of their commitment to bringing the consumer the best cigars at the best price.

The company noted in a letter to retailers:

Our company and the Perez-Carrillo family take immense pride in making the award-winning cigars in our lineup, offering them at the fairest value possible and making sure that we remain innovative as we bring new cigars to market. This past year has been exceptional and personally from all of us at E.P. Carrillo Cigars to all of you we say thank you for the support and continued belief in what we do here.

The published price sheets reflects an about a 5% or so increase across the La Historia, Encore, New Wave Connecticut, and Pledge lines. The Pledge Celestial had the largest increase, about 9% ($267 for a box of 20 vs $245). The Inch line has increases between 5% and 8%.

The newly released Allegiance is not currently getting a price increase and will remain at 2022 pricing for as long as the company can keep it there.
