Favilli / Mombacho Cigars S.A. has announced the world launch of The Granada Line, featuring the rebranded Tierra and the new Isletas and Lava lines of cigars.
The company’s decision to launch in Canada with product available first week of May is a celebration of its roots. The Granada Line offers availability to the USA and other hand selected international markets in the last weeks of May, with product available on shelves as early as the first week of June 2022.
In a note to the media, Jared Michaeli I. – President of Mombacho Cigars stated:
It is my pleasure to bring finally bring to the world the release of our Granada Line. Our entire team has worked diligently to bring this product and line to life. The concept was birthed last March as we began a factory remodel and a company rebranding which we will finalize this year. It has taken some time to get to this point, but as a small factory which is required to focus on higher-standard production and tobacco selection along with an increasing tourism market with our home dedication to sales and experiences in Nicaragua, we believe the timing is just right.
“Indiana Ortez has not only created an incredible environment to blend and create, but has introduced methods and selections that we are proud to introduce to the world. This all began with the rebranding of Tierra, are oldest mark which has born a few names over the years. Her dedication to paying homage to the blend while incorporating our new direction is impressive, and her teams works on the new Isletas and Lava is simply awesome. For the first time in 16 years the company offers to consumers and retailers alike a clear message in our dot system, which classifies the cigars experience. Also, the depth of having a core line with three wrappers was a necessary move in order to supply markets with a broader offering of our factories ability and different regions excellent tobaccos.

The Granada Tierra
Since 2006, the company’s entire portfolio has been established and developed around the mission of appropriately highlighting Nicaragua’s rich, volcanic soil. The core of the line is the rebranding of the company’s oldest mark, most recently known as Tierra Volcan. This Nicaraguan Puro offers a complete upgrade to its history, and its blend intends to pay homage to the Volcanic Soil of Nicaragua and the company’s history with the former blends of the cigar.
As they embark on the next 15 years as Favilli, they are proud to introduce to you the next chapter of their Nicaraguan chapter – the Tierra.

- Filler: Nicaraguan Jalapa & Condega

The Granada ISLETAS
The ISLETAS is a Connecticut shade offering and a brand-new mark for the company. The blend includes tobaccos from three countries and is designed to provide a clean and crisp smoke to the side of the market which prefers lighter cigars. The name and blend symbolize Granada’s famed islands created by the eruption of Volcano Mombacho, where locals and tourists visit for a bright experience surrounded by Lake Nicaragua.
The ISLETAS blend is described as:
- Wrapper: Connecticut Shade
- Binder: Ecuadorean Habano
- Fillers: Nicaraguan Jalapa & Condega, Dominican, HVA
They are expressed in 4 different vitolas, each packaged in 20-count boxes:

- Corto (4 x 50)
- Small Cigar (4½ x 26)
The Granada Lava
The LAVA is a Connecticut Broadleaf offering is the most out of the box in the company’s history. The blend is a rich and deep mix of tobaccos from three countries and provides smokers with a satiating, fuller experience for smokers seeking more depth. Lava was created to symbolize the beauty of flowing magma, which mesmerizes by its power, yet smooth flow. Lava as an element gave birth to the Volcanic Soil of Nicaragua.
The Lava blend is described as:

- Binder: Nicaraguan Jalapa
- Filler: Nicaraguan Jalapa & Condega, Dominican, H20

Special Packaging
The Granada Line’s introduction to the world includes its limited packaging of 1 of 100 “Forever Boxes” in each Vitola. The 20 count boxes offer a permanent humidor environment, the line name in gold on the top of the box and are numbered on the felt bottom 1 of 100. Packaging as regularly available product will include similar boxes to the “Forever Boxes”, as well as environmentally friendly, luxury refill boxes, a mimic of the design featured to be available this summer.
