Pangea Cigars today announced the official introduction of the company, marking the debut of a new premium cigar house built on intention, discipline, and refined craftsmanship.
Founded by industry professionals Ibis Luis and Anna Ayupova, Pangea was created to reflect a shared philosophy: true luxury does not rely on legacy, nor does it seek attention through volume or trend—it is earned through experience, consistency, and restraint.
The name Pangea is inspired by the ancient supercontinent, symbolizing connection before division. It reflects the founders’ belief that cigars serve as a universal language—bridging cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives through a shared moment. Rooted in the values of unity, strength, and possibility, the brand is guided by balance, confidence, and intellectual luxury, prioritizing how a cigar performs and how it makes the smoker feel rather than how loudly it announces itself. Equal importance is placed on craftsmanship and presentation, treating every detail—from blend development to physical form—as part of the overall experience.
Ibis Luis, born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Miami, brings more than 15 years of experience spanning premium cigar retail, brand development, and large-scale manufacturing. She previously spent six years with Plasencia Cigars, serving as a U.S. representative and brand developer. Today, Luis also consults for select cigar manufacturers, supporting brand positioning, sales strategy, and market development. She is a Certified Cigar Sommelier and Certified Bourbon Steward, with an approach grounded in education, respect for tobacco, and long-term brand integrity.
Anna Ayupova, born and raised in Almaty, Kazakhstan, contributes a global perspective shaped by executive leadership, luxury hospitality, and culinary arts. A Certified Cigar Sommelier and Wine Sommelier, Ayupova previously owned and operated a high-end cigar and wine club in California, where consistency, trust, and experience defined success. Her focus centers on balance, refinement, and intentional design.
As part of its creative foundation, Pangea Cigars is collaborating with Indiana Ortez of Casa de Ortez on the brand’s inaugural product. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to tobacco integrity, thoughtful blending, and modern craftsmanship rooted in tradition.
