Lou Cross has cast his line in the water again and this time pulled up a couple of Wahoos just in time for this years PCA trade Show in New Orleans.
As Lou Explains:
“In appreciation of the retail partners who supported Lure Cigars with orders during this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show, we wanted to offer something exclusive for them during the event. Following the recent second annual release of the lighter-bodied ‘The Jolly Walleye,’ I also wanted to create something for fans of bolder cigars. I’m a fan of San Andrés and was excited to work with this leaf again for this limited run. The point of the torpedo tip reminded me of offshore fishing with my dad—specifically the long, tapered body of the sportfish, the wahoo.”
This marks the second year that Lure Cigars will exhibit with Valacari® at the PCA trade show, taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, from April 17–20, 2026.
“The Wahoo” is offered in two vitolas:
- ‘The Ono’ – (6 x 52) Box Press Torpedo – MSRP $16.00/cigar Limited Production: 1,700 cigars
- ‘The Kingfish’ – (6.5 x 52) Torpedo – MSRP $16.00/cigar Limited Production: 2,500 cigars
The blend of both vitolas is described as:
- Wrapper: San Andres Maduro (Mexico)
- Binder: Esteli (Nicaragua)
- Filler: Esteli Ligero, and Jalapa, Esteli (Nicaragua)
These cigars are medium-to-full-bodied in strength and are dark and rich in flavor profile. Notes include dry cocoa, espresso, freshly tanned leather, baking spices, and a touch of pepper on the retrohale.
