Cigar News: Maya Selva to Debut NEW Villa Zamorano collection: VZ Danlí at PCA 2025

After a very enthusiastic welcome by European aficionados, VZ Danlí will be officially launch on the US market at this year´s PCA 2025. VZ Danlí was first introduced last September in Germany at Intertabac 2024. At Maya Selva Cigars we celebrate the journey – on our 30th anniversary – with a NEW Villa Zamorano collection: VZ Danlí.

These cigars are the genuine expression of its origin. We have put all our Villa Zamorano knowledge in 2 vitolas: a Robusto and a Toro rolled with an extraordinary tobacco from the area of Trojes, blended with tobacco leaves from the Jamastrán Valley and a touch of tobacco from Azacualpa in Honduras. All these leaves have undergone triple fermentation and have been processed with careful attention obtaining the perfect balance between strength and aroma. The fermentation know-how and the art of refining have found their ultimate expression.

Today, Danlí has earned its notoriety as the Cigar capital of Honduras – a well-kept secret among the who is who in the cigar world. A fascinating place with an influx of different cultures.

Our core value has been to showcase the taste of the tobacco from Honduras. We have taken this unique expertise and refined it for over three decades to bring you this new cigar– the first blend to bear the stamp and character of Danlí, representing the quintessence of this particular soil, climate and know-how. With a long, hand-rolled filler the aficionado will surely experience a rich and expressive cigar.

Danlí is located in the eastern part of Honduras in the Department of El Paraíso, just 92 kilometers from Tegucigalpa – the capital city. The economic activity is primarily hand-made cigars and on the agricultural side those related with three main crops: tobacco, coffee and corn. Surrounded by rolling pine covered hills, Danlí’s nickname is “City of Hills.”

For 30 years, Maya Selva Cigars has been producing premium cigars under the brands Flor de Selva, Cumpay, and Villa Zamorano. Its founder – Maya Selva – is passionate about the land where she grew up and works tirelessly for it. Every aspect of production is made in Honduras, from tobacco growing to the finished cigar. The packaging, boxes, and rings—every part of the extraordinary journey from the Jamastrán Valley to the final distributor—are crafted by Honduran hands.
