Then as soon as you launch the FDA of the United States announces far reaching regulations against the industry. You navigate through that and then a worldwide pandemic hits and shuts down retailers and plunges the stock market. You navigate that and then the country you are making your cigars in falls into civil unrest, adding another scare but that eventually gets resolved. The pandemic ends but inflation worldwide spike forcing prices of labor and goods to rise only to be hit with a trade tariff of 18%. This is real and it happened to many. Steve Saka, owner of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust is one of them. Yet, over the past 10 years he has steered his ship through some of the roughest waters and is still producing banging cigars that consumers crave and continue to purchase. Then again, that is what Steve does.
This year, 2025, Steve celebrates 10 years with his company and will be showcasing a plethora of new releases at Premium Cigar Industry’s biggest trade show of the year in New Orleans, LA this coming weekend.
