Luis Falto, owner of Tabacalera Falto, has announced the release of two new blends to the growing Falto Cigar Portfolio. The new blends are near and dear to Luis. The Falto El Surco Cosecheros is a cigar that was available only in Puerto Rico where his company is located and will now be available in the US market. The Falto Edición Especial ELH Hato Viejo is a celebration of his 46th birthday.
Both blends will be produced at the La Aurora S.A. factory in the Dominican Republic, where Luis has had a long relationship with for his blends. Like all Falto cigars, these blends are offered in only a single vitola each as he has always felt the a blend is best expressed in a a single vitola.. These are limited in production with only 100 boxes of each blend being produced.
Falto El Surco Cosecheros
The Falto El Surco Cosecheros is described as slim smoke that measure (6 7/8 x 40) and has a blend described as:
- Wrapper – Ecuadoran HVA (Havana Vuelta Arriba)
- Binder – Dominican Criollo ’98
- Filler – Dominican
Falto noted that the cigar is a dedication to the tabacco farmers. The names is a combination of two Spanish words; cosecheros which translates to “growers” and surco which translates to “furrow”. A furrow is a long, narrow trench in the ground made by the plow before planting seeds.
The El Surco Cosecheros will come packaged in 25-count boxes and has an MSRP set at $6.25/cigar.
Falto Edición Especial ELH Hato Viejo
The Falto Edición Especial ELH Hato Viejo is expressed in a (6 x 47) toro and has a blend described as:
- Wrapper – Cameroon
- Binder – Dominican Corojo
- Filler – Dominican
The company notes that Hato Viejo is the name of the farm from which most of the Dominican tobacco comes from, and ELH are the grower’s initials.
The Falto Edición Especial ELH Hato Viejo will come packaged in 20-count boxes and has an MSRP set at $6.50/cigar.
