After the release of the Barbarroja’s Invasion, the company’s renowned factory in the Dominican Republic, burned down and they had to rebuild. The new factory, Tabacalera Mina del Rey opened in 2023 and one of the first cigars to come out of that factory was the Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge. This would not have been possible, if numerous cigar companies, in the Dominican Republic did not show their support and offered to sell tobacco and supplies to ADV & McKay Cigars. Tis is truly a testament to the cigar community working together.

ADV & McKay Cigars describes the bend of the Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge as:

  • Wrapper – Mexican San Andrés Colorado
  • Binder – Dominican olor
  • Filler – Dominican

The company also notes that the tobacco used in this blend has been aged 5 years and the finished cigars were further aged for 6 months in the aging room.

The cigars are expressed in 3 different vitolas, each packaged in 20-count boxes, that when opened, play a sound clip with the Blue Eyed Jack character exclaiming small price to pay for the taste of sweet revenge.

  • Corona (6 x 44) – MSRP $13.20
  • Robusto (5 x 52) – MSRP $14.20
  • Toro (6 x 54) – MSRP $15.00

For this review, I sampled 3 of the Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge Toros which I purchased from Smoke Inn

Pre-Light Examination

The Cigar Review: ADV & McKay Cigars Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge is beautifully wrapped with a dark reddish-brown, toothy leaf that exhibits a slight sheen and a few noticeable veins. The cigar is firmly packed from head to foot. A well applied cap finishes the construction.

The Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge is adorned with a single band that uses a sky blue background and boldly displays the company’s logo using a darker blue hue and the golden letters A D V.

Running the barrel along the nose, I picked up a pleasant mild baking spice note while the foot exuded notes of sweet butter and fruit.

I used my Guillotina De Saka cutter made by CigarMedics to slice the cap evenly and proceeded to give it some cold draws. I found the pre-light draw to be a tad tight while offering a rich pepper note especially on the tongue with a bit of earthiness in the background.

Using my single flame torch lighter, I warmed the foot to an even orange glow and drew in the first complex puffs of pepper, cashew, and cream to start the journey. Follow along as I burn this one to ash.

Final Analysis

The Blue Eyed Jack’s Revenge Toro opens the journey with enticing flavors of pepper, cashew, and cream. A firm, “stacking dimes” white ash begins to form above a medium-thick char line. Sweet aromas swirl from the foot, hinting at the complexity yet to come. As the first third deepens, enticing honey notes emerge, balanced by a subtle dry cocoa powder. Moving into the second third, a delicate floral and fruity essence joins the flavor profile, accompanied by a lingering nuttiness on the palate. Midway through, a hint of citrus peel adds a bright, refreshing note, while coffee flavors start to develop. As the cigar nears its conclusion, vibrant spice notes make a bold appearance, bringing the experience to a lively finish. This is most certainly a box buy, and I do believe these will get even better with age. I rate this a solid 97.
