Continuing with the ongoing collaboration with the Eiroas, Scandinavian Tobacco Group introduced the latest expansion of their El Rey Del Mundo line this year with the El Rey Del Mundo Appointment cigar. The Eiroa family collaborated in the past, on the limited-edition El Rey del Mundo (King of the World) and also the Punch Golden Era line. While these other two are manufactured at the Eiroa’s Fabrica de Puros Aladino S.A. factory in Honduras, the El Rey Del Mundo Appointment is being made at the STG HATSA factory in Honduras and distributed by Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s (STG) Forged Cigar Co.

Ed Lahmann, senior brand manager for STG stated in a press release:
“El Rey del Mundo Appointment is blended for the cigar lover who understands the importance of choosing the right cigar for the right occasion. It’s about taking the time to select and enjoy the perfect cigar. And for us, El Rey del Mundo Appointment is that perfect cigar.”
The company describes the blend as:
- Wrapper – Cameroon-seed wrapper grown by the Eiroa family in Danlí
- Binder – Connecticut broadleaf
- Filler – Ecuador and Nicaragua
The El Rey Del Mundo Appointment is expressed in three vitolas, each [packaged in 20-count boxes:
- Robusto (5 x 50) – MSRP $8.79
- Toro (6 x 54) – MSRP $9.19
- Gordo (6 1/2 x 60) – MSRP $9.49
For this review, I sampled 4 of the El Rey Del Mundo Appointment Robustos, which I received from the company for the purpose of reviewing on Stogie Press.
Pre-Light Examination
Examining the Appointment I did note the slightly veiny and bumpy dark tan wrapper. The wrapper has a slight oily sheen and a touch of marbling to it. The cigar feels well packed from head to foot with just a little give near the head of the cigar. . A simple cap finishes the construction.

The cigar is adorned with a vibrant purple and gold band that displays the brand logo in the center and the name “Appointment” on the bottom. There is also a large outer sleeve that displays a black and white map of the world.

Running the barrel along the nose, I picked up a faint barnyard note while the foot offered notes of pepper and cocoa.
I sliced the cap straight across the shoulder of the cigar and gave it some cold draw puffs that tantalized the palate with notes of buttery earth and growing hot pepper note.
Using my single flame torch, I warmed the foot to an even orange glow and drew in the first puffs of savory pepper notes to start the journey. Follow along as I burn this one to ash.

Final Analysis

The El Rey Del Mundo Appointment Robusto offered a harmonious interplay of savory and sweet elements, highlighted by a steady evolution of flavor and impressive smoke production. The opening’s pepper-and-butter duet transitions gracefully into a creamy, nutty middle accented by cocoa and cinnamon, before culminating in a warm, spiced finale.
The construction performed admirably, holding a solid ash and producing full-bodied smoke, even with a mildly jagged burn. Flavor transitions are smooth, the profile remains well rounded, and the natural sweetness from the wrapper ties the entire experience together.
Medium in strength and full in flavor, this cigar will appeal to smokers who enjoy rich texture, subtle sweetness, and spice-driven complexity. At a very wallet friendly price point and pleasurable experience this is worth a box buy.
