Cigar Review: Fathom & Fury Cigars – No Quarter Given Toro – Rated 95

Those that know me, know that I have always been one to give a voice to small premium cigar brands. In fact, I built the Stogie Press brand on a foundation of small brands. So, when I smoke a cigar that is special and it comes from a small company with limited resources, I perk up! Now it does not matter to me if these cigars are available only online or just in a few stores, every company is entitled to build their brand and hopefully grow over time.

Fathom & Fury Cigars – No Quarter Given

Today, I want to talk about a true gem of a cigar from a new and small veteran owned company – Fathom and Fury Cigars. The cigar is named – No Quarter Given and has an 11 country, worldwide blend that was the mad genius of Ismael (Ish) Olivan, who the company enlisted to produce and craft the blend.

Th company notes:

“Fathom & Fury Cigars is not your average cigar brand, it’s an experience forged in fire, rooted in passion, and crafted with intention. Each cigar is a journey, not a routine. From the very first light, you’ll notice something different. The draw is effortless, perfectly constructed to let the flavors unfold naturally and smoothly, without resistance, without compromise.

What truly sets Fathom & Fury apart is its complex, evolving flavor profile. Every few draws, your palate is greeted with a shift, a surprising note, a subtle transition, like a symphony playing across your senses. One moment it’s spice and earth, the next it’s cream and cedar. It’s alive. It’s deliberate. And it keeps you curious from start to finish.

This isn’t just blending for the sake of variety, Fathom & Fury cigars are meticulously built using tobaccos from 11 different countries, each chosen for its distinct contribution to the overall experience. That’s not just international flair; it’s global craftsmanship with purpose. You’re not smoking just one region’s story, you’re holding a world of character, carefully harmonized into one unforgettable smoke.”

The worldwide blend of tobacco, for the No Quarter Given, is described as:

  • Wrapper – Dominican Habano Maduro
  • Binder – Pennsylvania
  • Filler – Cameroon Africa, Nicaragua, Italian, Irish, Turkish, Thai, Philippines, Transylvanian, and French

Ok, that is a lot of ingredients for sure. I mean, how many cigar enthusiasts have had the opportunity to enjoy such exotic tobacco like Irish, Thai, Philippines, or Transylvanian?

The Fathom & Fury Cigars – No Quarter Given is expressed in a single (6 x 52) Toro vitola and comes packaged in 10-count bundles with an MSRP of $13.95/cigar. They are available at Toro Cigars.

For this review, I sampled two of these, which were provided to me by the company for the purpose of reviewing on Stogie Press.

Pre-Light Examination

The Fathom & Fury Cigars – No Quarter Given is draped in a dark brown marbled wrapper that exhibits a few veins and bumps. The wrapper has more of a matte finish as opposed to oily sheen. When pressed a little, I noticed a little extra give in the bottom 3rd, near the foot. Construction is completed with a simple cap.

A single black and silver band adorns the cigar that boldly displays the company’s logo in the center.

Running the cigar along the nose, I picked up a fermented leaf aroma along the barrel while the foot exuded rich earthy barnyard notes.

I sliced the cap straight across the shoulder of the cigar and gave it some cold draw puffs. They were inviting to the palate, with good tingle of black pepper and natural tobacco sweetness.

Using my dual flame torch, I gently warmed the foot to an even orange glow and drew in the first introductory puffs of salty butter and pepper notes to start my worldwide journey. ALL ABOARD! This ship is sailing, so hold on tight as we make our way around the world.

The Fathom & Fury Cigars – No Quarter Given journey begins with light notes of salty butter and black pepper, quickly joined by a rustic spice that sets the tone. Soon, sweet floral fruit enters the mix, lifting the profile with a delicate brightness. The smoke pours out full, thick, and creamy. Just as cedar and nutmeg nuances seem to round out the introduction, the cigar surprises—this is merely the first passport stamp on a far-reaching voyage.

Espresso slides into the profile with a touch of cocoa, while the initial sweetness evolves into a richer honey-like tone. Entering the second third, a fleeting note of dry leather teases the palate before giving way to malty citrus, moistening the mouth as flavors swirl in harmony. The cigar rewards a slow pace—draw too quickly and its balance shifts, but when savored, it reveals remarkable depth. T

Midway, a mild black licorice aroma rises from the foot, while savory spice grows tangier and the earlier citrus resurfaces as orange. A toasted cracker quality adds a rustic aroma, while the retrohale surprises with buttered popcorn layered over nutty nuances. With another passport stamp, the journey transitions into its final leg.

Chocolate and tea-like spice brighten the palate as leather returns, now paired with woody oak. The aroma shifts once more, offering a nuttiness that lingers in the room.
