Back in August of 2024, My Father Cigars announced they started shipping their latest expansion of the company’s Limited Edition Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial series. This latest offering is called the Sucesor or in English the Successor. The extension includes two blends each in one vitola for the blend. There is a Sumatra blend and a Habano blend. The Sumatra is expressed in a (6 x 56) toro and the Habano, which I will be reviewing today is expressed in a (6 1/8 x 52) box-pressed torpedo.
The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Sucesor LE 2024 Habano blend is described as a Nicaraguan puro:
- Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano
- Binder: Nicaragua
- Filler: Nicaragua
They come packaged in 14-count boxes and have an MSRP of $14.00/cigar. Only 5,000 boxes have been produced. The Sucesor is handcrafted at My Fathers Cigars S.A. in Nicaragua.
For this review, I sampled 2 Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Sucesor LE 2024 Habano Torpedoes, which I purchased from my local Brick & Mortar – Executive Cigar Shop & Lounge in Melbourne, Florida.
Pre-Light Examination
The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Sucesor LE 2024 Habano is a well-constructed box-pressed torpedo. It is cloaked with a smooth medium to dark reddish-brown and shiny wrapper that has a decent amount of marbling running through it. Minimal veins are noticeable, and the cigar feels well packed, rolled, and pressed – from foot to the well finished torpedo tip head. Definitely, no soft spots are detected.
Two bands adorn the cigar. The first is the standard Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial band that pops nicely on the background of the darker brown leaf. A secondary gold band identifies the cigar as the Sucesor. Remember, if it is a torpedo, it is the habano blend.
Running the Sucesor LE 2024 Habano along the nose I picked up a mild spice note along the barrel. but wow, the foot offered a vibrant and enticing set of sweet chocolate and nut aromas. Do I this or smoke it?
I straight cut the cap of the cigar and proceeded to give the Sucesor LE 2024 Habano some introductory cold draws. The cold draw offered an excellent restriction when the cap is cut a 1/2 inch down dfrom the tip. The draw offered notes of sweetness, pepper, milk chocolate and nut. If the rest of the journey is like the pre-light I will be in cigar heaven.
Time to toast the Sucesor LE 2024 Habano. I warmed the foot with my fan flame Xikar lighter, bringing it to an even orange glow. As I drew in the first taste of the Sucesor LE 2024 Habano, my palate was graced with notes of peppery spice, cream, and walnut. Follow along as I burn this one to ash.

Final Analysis
The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Sucesor LE 2024 Habano Torpedo journey begins with an enticing blend of peppery spice, velvety cream, and rich walnut note. Each puff releases a sumptuous burst of creamy smoke that envelops the palate, while vibrant red currant fruit notes, dusted with a sprinkle of cinnamon, enhance this already delightful introduction. As the cigar burns through the first half inch, the initial cream evolves, introducing a soft vanilla essence that intertwines beautifully with the existing flavors. The overall profile harmonizes splendidly during this initial third.
This is truly an elegant cigar! As I transition into the second third, the spice notes intensify, bringing forth mouth-watering hints of citrus that elevate the experience further. Sweet, spicy aromas waft around me, creating a fragrant ambiance. A subtle earthiness has begun to build, adding depth to the evolving profile. When the solid ash finally drops around the midway point, it reveals an impressive burn cone beneath.
Midway through, the strength has gracefully escalated to a medium-plus level, while dark chocolate notes enrich the complex tapestry of flavors. The cinnamon notes deepen, becoming more pronounced as I delve further into the second third, with citrus subtly layered in the background, enhancing the overall experience. The initial walnut essence has transformed into a lingering peanut flavor on the palate as I approach the end of the second third. The strength has now reached its peak, full-bodied and robust, while creamy citrus notes come together beautifully in the final stretch. My Father Cigars shows that it is very possible to produce an outstanding cigar for $14.00 retail, right in the sweet spot of the consumers wallet. Buy a box of these before they are gone! I rate this a stellar 97.
