Hac Coker – the owner of Tres Leones Cigars has teamed up with Cordoba y Morales to introduce two new cigar blends under a new cigar line known as Man of Leasure Cigars. The blends are a Maduro and a Connecticut. For this review I will be concentrating on the Man of Leasure Cigars Maduro, which I received samples of from the company for the purpose of reviewing on Stogie Press.
The Man of Leasure Cigars Maduro has blend described by the company as:
- Wrapper – San Andrés Maduro
- Binder – Nicaraguan
- Filler – Nicaraguan
The cigars are expressed in a toro vitola, and come packaged in 10-count boxes. The company has set an MSRP of $14.99/cigar and $140.00/box.
The cigars are blended and manufactured by Cordoba y Morales owner “Z”.
Pre-Light Examination
The Man of Leisure Cigars Maduro is cloaked in a dark espresso bean brown wrapper that exhibits some notable veins along with a decent amount of marbling though the leaf. The wrapper does not have much sheen to it, but more of a matte finish. The packing seems fine with a little give when pressed between the fingers. Construction is neatly finished with a well applied triple cap and a closed foot.
Two silver and black bands adorn the cigar. The primary boldly displays a black silhouette of a bearded gentleman on a silver background. A second band is placed just below the primary and declares this as a Man of Leasure cigar.
Running the barrel along the nose I picked up spice and woody notes. With the closed foot I was not able to ascertain any notes off the foot.
Once I sliced the cap straight across the shoulder of the cigar, I gave it some cold draw puffs that offered a stinging peppery spice on the lips and tongue. Restriction cannot be determined due to the closed foot.
I used my single flame torch to warm the foot. The closed foot leaf took to the flame well and ignited the cigar to an even orange glow as I drew in the first puffs of enticing graham cracker and pepper notes. Follow along as I burn this one to ash.
Cigar Review Notes
- The initial light offers tasty graham cracker and peppery spice notes to commence the journey

- Mildly tangy fruit notes join the mix after an inch of burn
- The ash dropped in a decent chunk revealing a flat but fairly centered burn cone
- Moving into the second third, the spice notes ratchet up a notch
- Enticing caramel nuances treat the palate midway through the burn
- There is a slightly astringent profile deep in the second third

Cigar Review Notes
The opening moments of the Man of Leisure Cigars Maduro Toro introduce a delightful blend of graham cracker sweetness and a hint of peppery spice, setting the stage for the experience ahead. Pleasant, sweet aromas drift up from the foot, inviting the senses. After the first inch, mildly tangy fruit notes emerge, adding a refreshing complexity to the flavor profile. Entering the second third, the spice notes intensify, becoming more pronounced and engaging. Midway through, enticing caramel undertones address the palate, adding a layer of richness. However, a slight astringent note begins to surface deep into the second third. As the cigar progresses into its final third, woody flavors begin to take over, rounding out the experience with earthy depth. This is worth checking out a fiver. I rate this a 91.
