Cigar Review: My Father Cigars Blue 2025 Toro – Rated 95

Debuting this year (2025) – the My Father Blue Label is the latest release from the García family and is the company’s first cigar crafted entirely in Honduras. It is defined as a Honduran puro. —using 100% Honduran tobacco—including a Connecticut Broadleaf Rosado wrapper over a Honduran binder with corojo and criollo fillers grown on their own farm in Honduras. The thousand acre farm in the Talanga region of Honduras was started back in 2022 and is known as Finca La Opulencia. The blue is the first blend to come out of the factory.

I will say this. Way back in the 1990s I was a huge Honduran cigar fan. I liked the flavors that the region’s terroir imparted into the leaves. Of course time went on, Hurricane Mitch screwed up a lot of Honduras for a while and Nicaragua grew to become the new American palate pleasure.

So let’s talk about this new introduction by My Father Cigars. As mentioned, the blend is described as:

  • Wrapper – Connecticut Broadleaf Rosado
  • Binder – Honduran
  • Filler – Honduran (corojo and criollo)

The company has expressed the blend in 4 different vitolas, each packaged in 20-count boxes:

  • Petit Robusto (4 1/2 x 50) – MSRP $9.45
  • Robusto (5 1/4 x 54) – MSRP $12.50
  • Toro (6 x 54) – MSRP $14.25
  • Toro Gordo (6 x 60) – MSRP $15.00

I have seen these for sale at 10% off the MSRP in numerous online shops.

As for me, I Sampled 3 of the My Father Blue Toros, which I purchased from my local Brick& Mortar – Executive Cigar Shop and Lounge in Melbourne Florida.

Pre-Light Examination

The My Father Cigars Blue 2025 impresses with a medium to dark reddish brown wrapper that exhibits a light toothiness, a touch of marbling, and a nice sheen. There are minimal veins running though the wrapper. I found the cigar to be packed just right with no soft spots. The construction is finished with a well applied triple cap.

Three bands adorn the cigar. The primary band proudly displays the company’s logo along with numerous imagery through the art. A secondary band is placed just below the primary and declares this as the 2025 Blue using roman numerals for the year. Both the primary and secondary incorporate a sky blue color scheme. Some say the blue color is a homage to the Honduran flag. Finally a blue satin band is applied on the foot.

Running the cigar across the nose, I was greeted with sweet curing barn aroma off the barrel while the foot offered a nutty essence.

Once I sliced the cap straight across the shoulder of the cigar and gave it some cold draws the My Father Blue treated the palate with light cream and nut and a mildly growing white pepper.

Using my single flame torch, I warmed the foot to an even orange glow and drew in the first puffs of medium pepper to start the journey.

Final Analysis

A medium level of pepper greets the palate right from the first puffs of the My Father Blue 2025, setting an engaging opening. Tangy cherry notes quickly join the mix, complemented by a pleasant touch of cream that rounds out the early profile. A light graey ash forms atop a thick char line, while a mild wave in the burn develops but remains well within control.

After about an inch of burn, mild spice notes begin to surface, followed by evolving sweet, earthy undertones that add depth. The ash eventually drops in a solid chunk, revealing a well-formed and centered burn cone. As the cigar transitions into the second third, the profile becomes more intriguing, with savory cumin notes emerging and enticing the palate. Midway through the second third, candied fruit notes deepen the overall experience, bringing a welcome sweetness. Approaching the end of the second third, the spice level ramps up, adding intensity and balance.

Moving into the final third, rich espresso notes enter the mix, accompanied by a lingering sweet malt character that carries the cigar smoothly to its conclusion.
