Miami Cigar & Co. kicked off their 35-year anniversary this year by bringing back Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve. This 2024 version is a brand-new blend and complete with updated packaging. Nestor Miranda worked closely with the My Father Cigar Factory in Nicaragua, to create a blend that was worthy of such a milestone.
Miami Cigar & Co. previously released prior editions of the brand in 2011 and 2012. It was felt that it was the right moment to revive the Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve, in time for the company’s 35-year anniversary.
Nestor Miranda, Founder and President of Miami Cigar & Co. stated:
“The Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve 2024 was a special one for us. A 35-year anniversary is a big one! My wife and co-founder of Miami Cigar, Mariana Miranda, and I are still in awe by how far we have come. I really wanted to create a blend that was worthy of such an anniversary. I thank the team at the My Father Cigar Factory, for being patient with me throughout this process, as I wanted this blend to reach the highest possible standard.”
The blend is described as a Nicaraguan puro:
- Wrapper: Nicaragua
- Binder: Nicaragua
- Filler: Nicaragua
The Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve 2024 is expressed in a (6 1/8 x 52) torpedo vitola and is packaged 10-count boxes with an MSRP of $18.00/cigar. Production was limited to 1,500 (15,000 Total Cigars)
For this review I sampled two Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve 2024 cigars which I received from the company for the purpose of reviewing on Stogie Press.
Pre-Light Examination
The Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve 2024 is a beautifully crafted cigar with its silky smooth, medium brown wrapper that has just a few veins with a touch of marbling and a light oily sheen. It has excellent packing that is firm with just a light give from head to foot. An expertly applied torpedo tip caps the construction.
Two bands adorn the cigar. The primary band uses a red, gold, and white motif. The band is ornate with the name “GRAND RESERVE” printed on the bottom and Nestor’s signature on top. There is also a Ruby red diamond on top which is an attractive touch to the artwork. A secondary band is placed just below the primary using red and gold and denotes this as the “2024”.
Running along the cigar across the nose I picked up a rich walnut aroma off the foot and just a mild barnyard along the barrel.
I sliced that cap straight across the tip about a 1/4 in down and gave it some cold draw offers puffs that I found to have a perfect restriction and offered notes of walnut and pepper.
Using my Xikar flame torch lighter, I warmed the foot to an even orange glow and drew in the first puffs of cream and pepper notes with a very pleasant nut aroma wafting off the foot. Follow along as I burn this beauty to ash.

Final Analysis
The first puffs of the Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve 2024 Torpedo reveals a creamy profile with a touch of pepper, complemented by a delightful nutty aroma. Subtle oak notes quickly emerge, enriching the flavor. As the pepper softens, a hint of chocolate gradually unfolds, adding depth to the experience in the first third. A gentle honey sweetness harmonizes beautifully with the nutty undertones, creating a pleasing interplay on the palate. Bright citrus sweet notes introduce a lively dimension, transitioning into the second third. The initial chocolate evolves into a richer, dark chocolate essence, while a mild spice punctuates the midpoint. The long, sturdy ash finally falls, revealing a well-shaped burn cone. In the final third, a touch of plum joins the balanced medley of flavors, with the nutty core lingering elegantly on the palate, completing the journey. This cigar was as close to perfect as you can be. Spectacular in construction and extremely well balanced and complex in flavor. I highly recommend this for any cigar enthusiast. Grab or share a box of these before they are gone. I rate this a rock solid 98.
