Today, I would like to present my review of the latest craft coming out of NOMOS Cigars. NOMOS Cigars is a brand under CTJM Partners, LLC which is owned by two New York Lawyers and cigar enthusiasts – Corey Turner and Jerold Miles. The company is just a few years old and strives to make the finest cigars.
The company website notes:
“CTJM LLC was started by two New York lawyers motivated purely out of their love of cigars and shared belief that a good cigar brings absolute equilibrium to an otherwise chaotic world. It is with this belief in mind that CTJM LLC manufactures in the Dominican Republic its inaugural proprietary Nomos line of ultra-premium cigars with distinctive blends of the highest quality well-aged tobacco.
Each cigar undergoes our proprietary aging process in climate-controlled aging rooms. The result is a unique cigar with consistent taste and smooth, rich notes of flavor worthy of providing a beautiful smoke right down to the last nub. Our company’s goal is to produce cigars with consistency of taste and quality so that the cigars will become synonymous with the world’s best regarded ultra-premium cigars.”
This year, CTJM, LLC’S released the company’s first full-bodied and full-strength cigar – the NOMOS TITAN.
Expressed in a single (5 x 64) Robusto Gordo, the NOMOS TITAN features a finely cultivated blend of tobacco described as:
- Wrapper – Mexican San Andres
- Binder – Full Flavor Dominican Piloto Cubano Seco
- Filler – Dominican Cubano Ligero, Brazilian Ligero, and Dominican Criollo 98
The Titan comes packaged in 10-count boxes with an MSRP of $16.00/cigar.
For this review I sampled 2 of the NOMOS TITANS that I received from the company for the purpose of review on Stogie Press.
Pre-Light Examination
The NOMOS TITAN is presented as a toothy, veiny, and lightly marbled dark brown cigar. It feels well packed and solid to the touch with no discernable soft spots. A simple cap finishes the construction.
A single band adorns the cigar. It uses a red and gold color scheme with an image of the Titan “Atlas’ holding up the earth and the name NOMOS printed across the top. In Greek Mythology, Atlas was punished by Zeus for leading the Titans into battle against the Olympian Gods so they could control the heavens. His punishment was to bear the weight of the heaven on his shoulder for eternity. Some think Atlas represents strength, but actually he represents endurance. It is Kratos that is the god of strength.
Running the NOMOS TITAN along the nose, I was greeted with pre-light aromas of floral spice along the barrel and an array of enticing earth, floral, and pepper off the foot.
I slice the cap straight across the shoulder of the cigar and proceeded to give it some pre-light draws that were surprisingly spot on with restriction and offered lip stinging, palate warming, pepper notes that were joined with earth and other exotic spices.
Using my triple flame torch, I warmed the foot to an even orange glow and drew in the first puffs of a pleasant natural sweetness and coffee notes. Follow along as I burn this Titan to ash.

Final Analysis
The NOMOS Cigars TITAN journey begins with a delightful nutty aroma that intertwines seamlessly with a natural sweetness and the rich essence of coffee. Almost immediately, notes of pepper emerge, adding a piquant complexity to the experience. The pre-light floral notes weave their way into the overall profile, enhancing the initial impression. Flavors, reminiscent of raisin bread, develop deep within the first third, adding a surprising depth. However, an off-burn occurs, necessitating a minor touch-up to maintain the burn. Midway through, creamy notes begin to emerge wrapping the overall profile is soothing sweetness. The lingering nutty essence remains on the palate, while spice notes gradually build in intensity deep into the second third. A subtle touch of cedar joins the mix, harmonizing with the continuing spice that carries through to the end. In the final moments, the smoke burns a touch hot, but the rich flavors remain ever-present, leaving a lasting impression. This is worth a fiver for the decent flavor experience. I rate this a 90.
Point Deductions: (-1) Wavy Burn; (-1) Off burn; (-1) Touchup required; (-1) Burns hot in final; (-1) Flaky ash
Bonus Points: (+1) Balanced profile across multiple samples
