The year 2013, brought us the “JV13” named after Friday the 13th infamous “Jason Voorhees” monster. Since then, it has been called the Jason as it is in this year’s Tatuaje Monster Smash 2024 collection. This is the 6th monster in the collection.

Pre-Light Examination
The Tatuaje Cigars 2024 Monster Smash Collection Jason is draped in a slightly toothy, dark brown wrapper. with a nice inviting sheen. There are a few veins running through the barrel. The cigars is fairly firm to the squeeze with just a little extra give near the head and foot. A triple cap completes the construction.
As with all Tatuaje Cigars, the Jason is adorned with a single thin band with the word Tatuaje in the center. In the case of the Jason, it is a red band with brown lettering.
Running the Jason along the nose I was greeted with pungent barnyard notes along the barrel and barnyard, nut, and pepper off the foot.
I straight cut the cap right across the shoulder of the cigar and proceeded to give the Jason a few cold draws. The cold draw was spot on with restriction and offered notes of pepper and tanginess.
Time to toast the Jason. I warmed the foot with my Xikar Fan Flame torch, bringing the foot to an even orange glow. As I drew in the first taste of the Jason, my palate was introduced to notes of tangy fruit and cream. Follow along as I burn the Jason to ash.

Rich, peppery notes emerge prominently on the retrohale, opening the nasals. In the second third, enticing milk chocolate notes make their entrance, weaving into the evolving profile. The initial cream transforms into a sweet vanilla cream, striking a balance with the other flavors. Darker chocolate notes develop in the second third, adding richness and depth, while tannic undertones start to surface. As the cigar progresses into the final, earthy notes emerge to complete the journey. I rate the Jason a 91.
