Crux Cigars lit up the cigar market back in 2015 with the release of a very special and limited cigar known as the Crux Limitada PB5. The leaf used in this magnificent blend was hard to come by and short in supply so the company limited the production to just 7,500 cigars. Of course back then Crux was a new and growing cigar company that was yet to be a household name. I latched onto this company and have been a fan ever since meeting them in 2014.
Stogie Press reviewed the original Crux Limitada PB5 early in 2016 and we certainly enjoyed the blend. We were not the only ones either, Halfwheel awarded it the Number 2 Cigar of the Year for 2016!
The accolades did not fall on deaf ears, as the Crux Cigar company introduced the 2nd incarnation of the Limitada PB5 last year, and now they have announced the 3rd installment of this highly sought after blend. The release is planned for this years IPCPR in Las Vegas. Production will be increased slightly to 1,000 10-count boxes this year.
According to the company’s press release:
The Limitada PB5 features a 10 year aged Nicaraguan Engañoso wrapper leaf. Crux Cigars had secured a limited supply of the Engañoso wrapper in 2012, two years before the company debuted at the 2014 IPCPR show. The tobacco had already been aging 7 years when acquired and was available in limited supply.
Crux Cigar Owner, Jeff Haugen stated in the press release:
“We are humbled by the response we have received for the PB5, and will continue to develop unique limited release blends as part of our overall effort of building premium cigars,”
As in the previous releases, the Crux Limitada PB5 2017 will be available in just one vitola – a 5.75 x 54 with a Cuban box-pressed finish.
MSRP has been set at $119.90 for a 10-count box.
