As I relax and enjoy my after dinner cigar in the Stogie Press Lounge this evening, I am moved by how wonderful the cigar industry is. Although the Christmas season is a time of giving, the industry as whole is a giving one throughout the year.
We, as an industry, give all year to great charities including; Cigars for Warriors, Toys for Tots, the Fuente Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, the Plasencia Cigars day care and pre-schools, and the General Cigars Literacy Project.
Just this year Southern Draw Cigars started the 300 hands project with the help of A.J. Fernandez . The project produces cigars at a lower cost and returns profit to Nicaraguan citizens in need.
Most recently, I wrote about Mombacho and Team Callahan Cigars who took time out of a busy schedule to visit and support the 1st Responders in the Florida panhandle, early in the Hurricane Michael relief effort. A small gesture that went a long way.

The list is too long to itemize, but as a consumer you should be pleased that the industry gives back millions of dollars every year to support those in need. Even if you are not directly involved, your indirect involvement through the purchase of premium cigars, contribute to these efforts. We are a giving industry!
So as we get ready to celebrate time with family and friends this week, and then prepare to ring in 2019 next week, lets give thanks to the many in the industry who have made a difference on behalf of all of us who enjoy premium cigars.
