One of the great pleasures of being in the media side of the cigar business is getting the opportunity to sit down with brand owners to talk about their latest creations and business journeys. Everyone is special and each has their own story. The business though is made up of more than brand owners, it includes farmers, manufacturing and processing companies, retail shop owners, consumers, and of course cigar media. Working together we grow this business we love so much.
I was greatly humbled this past week when Bear Duplisea asked me if I would be interested in being interviewed by him for his latest YouTube episode of his show – El Oso Fumar Takes (#elosofumartakes).
Wow, I have to say I was honored, especially since I only met Bear a couple of weeks ago at Erik Espinosa’s La Zona Palooza event in Miami. We quickly became cigar bros that weekend – of course sharing cigars helped, but being a fellow Red Sox fan sealed the deal. As I noted in the La Zona Palooza article, this is a celebration of family.
To be recognized by your peers in the business is special and I thank Bear for taking the time to make this happen. Bear also works with Cigar Coop on his Cigar Coop Prime Time show, which is a fine weekly cigar broadcast. If you have not tuned into that, I suggest you find time to listen.
As for the interview I did with Bear, it covered a range of fun topics from cigars to baseball, to music and back again. The whole interview was recorded and available for play back on his YouTube channel.
Once again, thank you Bear and Coop, I am sure our paths will cross again.
