It was the first night of the 2019 IPCPR/PCA Tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV and my Stogie Press associates Steve and Gary joined me at the Alec Bradely/Lars Tetens media party. Of course we just came from the opening party at the Sands Convention Center and I was dressed in black tie and a white dinner jacket, so I may have been a bit over dressed for the media party, but then again, this was a penthouse party in the Maloof Penthouse on the 59th floor of Palms Place overlooking the city of Las Vegas, NV.
As we entered we were greeted by Lars Tetens and Alan Rubin (Owner of Alec Bradley Cigars). We got to shake hands with Lars and were presented a cigar sampler as a gift for coming. The next stop was the bar, and Alan and Lars spared no expense here either, as the best of spirits were being served. We got our drinks and headed to the outdoor deck to take in the site. It is certainly a beautiful view of the city. There was plenty of food and some of Lars’ own special culinary sauces to try. Food and drink were only the start. A cigar event would not be called such if there not more cigars to smoke and there was plenty of Lars Tetens cigars to go around.
As the night grew on and the crowd increased, Lars broke out his guitar – yes the man really does play guitar. He also writes his own songs. Here is a short clip of Lars playing one of his original songs at the party.
After a short 4 song set, we caught up with Lars and his VP of Operations Ralph Montero, to talk about Cigars, Art, Music, Cooking, and Spices. After our talk, I would safely agree, Lars is a multi-talented man and I look forward to smoking his cigar craft and enjoying his spices in the months to come. So sit back and watch the interview with the “White Boy” himself.
In the months to come I have a number of his blends, to smoke and review, and you know I will chime in on these throughout the rest of the year.
