I recently stopped into one of my local Space Coast cigar shops – Jimmy’s Cigar Lounge in Melbourne FL. Jimmy turned me onto a Kristoff DR4. Although I am a full body smoke man, I do enjoy a great mild or even medium body smoke and of course we should be reviewing all flavors and sizes for our readers. The DR4 is just that – a delectable light smoke that lives up to the Kristoff name.
The DR4 is part of Kristoff’s Galerones Series and is the mildest cigar offered by the Kristoff Cigar company. I am no expert on spanish but I will venture to say the word Galerones comes from the word Galeron meaning Knight.
The DR4 is a well constructed cigar, I was smoking the 6.25 x 50 Toro. As I fired it up it quickly delivered a blast of creamy smoke that was mild in flavor. There were hints of cedar and a fine white ash. The 2nd third offered a bit of honey mixed in with the cream and the retrohale was as smooth as the draw. The cream flavor continued all the way to the end and yes, I did smoke this to the nub. This is a great morning cigar that would pair quite well with a cup of coffee or late’.
The DR4 is constructed of four different tobaccos, all cuban seed, from the Dominican Republic.
Glen Case, you hit it out of the park with this stick.
You can get these at many fine shops including The Mancave Cigar Lounge in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
