In this episode of Taking It To The Nub, Boston Jimmie from Stogie Press sits down with Maya Selva, founder and owner of Maya Selva Cigars, a woman owned business since 1995.
Maya and her company are celebrating over 25 years in the premium cigar business. Maya is a degreed engineer. a native of Honduras, and makes her home in Paris. France. Not being from a tobacco family, Maya takes us on woman’s journey that began in a predominantly older male business at the time. Her journey is one of perseverance, passion and attention to quality.
This interview and cigar chat was one of my favorite this season. It is such a pleasure talking with Maya. Every time I have the opportunity to talk with her, I learn a little more about this industry we love so much. You can’t be in the business for a quarter century without learning a few things here and there, and Maya certainly knows her craft.
