Greetings! First we did the Connecticut Shade, and I told Jim I had the Maduro in my humidor as well, so here’s the Broadleaf Maduro. This again is not my first time smoking this cigar. Hopefully this review will give you some insight on what this cigar is like and if you’d enjoy smoking it. I was not given this to review. Like the Shade, I picked this up at a tobacco shop locally called Tobacco Express that also has a small humidor. I hope you enjoy the review!

Smoking Experience:
Cold Draw: The code draw has a sweetness and robustness to it. Hints of dark chocolate and mocha. Very excited to light up this cigar.
First Third: Just as the cold draw the first third begins with some sweetness and hints of dark chocolate and mocha along with some nuances of dark spice. Through the nose I am getting much more chocolate and spice then through the inhale. So far it is a very complex cigar with many delectable flavors going on in it. The construction is very good, and the taste is up to par with the Connecticut as well.
Second Third: The first third has come and gone and the cigar has really changed flavor profiles. It has went from a super strong smoke to a more laid-back flavor. The flavor I’m getting now on the inhale is almost like a hazelnut mixed with a rich almond flavor. Through the nose I am getting just a slight bit of spice with some earth textures. That is some what of how I would describe the inhale as well – textures of earth. I am also getting a light vanilla on the inhale as well. Very interesting. Again so far the construction has been fantastic, the burn has been wonderful, and the flavor has just morphed into something different, but still good.
Final Third/Finish: The final third is in full force now, and it is so good! It has gone to a nice easy-going smoke with a smooth finish. I just started the finish, so it may change, but so far what I’m tasting in the inhale is a strong chocolate, some wood, and leather. On the retro I am getting some white pepper spice, and almost a floral aroma/taste texture from the nose which is really nice. The dark/black spice has come back about middle way through this finish. A nice way to end this tasty smoke. All the other flavors are virtually the same, but the black pepper came back like in the beginning. Similar to what happened in the Connecticut Shade.
Overview: There is a lot of bang for your buck here. Not an overly expensive cigar, with good burn, good construction from head to foot, and wonderful flavor from the beginning to the end of the smoke. Well worth the price. If you’re a Broadleaf smoker like me, this should go into your regular rotation. This was a fantastic smoke for the price. Box worthy for the type of smoker that loves Broadleaf.
