In the triple crown of Motorsports, the 24 hours of Le Mans is the most grueling of high-octane car racing. And in the 1960s, Ford decided it was time to go big at Le Mans, or go home. So they created the GT40 MK1 to compete against Ferrari in the long-distance race. And the GT40 won. Three years in a row.
Senior brand manager Ed Lahmann said,
“The new CAO V23 celebrates 100 years of Le Mans and the American muscle car that took the racing world by storm.”
In the bold tradition of CAO V19, V21 and C60 – CAO V23 is a powerhouse blend that fires on all cylinders. Handcrafted in at STG Esteli in Nicaragua, this limited-edition blend described as:
- Wrapper – Honduran
- Binder – Nicaraguan
- Filler – Honduran and Nicaraguan
Like the GT40 that inspired it, CAO V23 is a cigar that demands attention. It offers a heady mix of earth, spice and toast for a smoking experience that’s all torque.
Ed continued:
“V23 has the large-ring, box-pressed, full-bodied attributes of its predecessor blends, and that’s where the similarities end. This smoke is about power, for sure, but it’s more about power and finesse. Just as a legendary racecar like the GT40 MK1 had substance and style, so does V23. This is a cigar lover’s cigar because it’s got body and nuance and is a true pleasure to smoke. We’re excited to share V23 with the fans of CAO.”
CAO V23 comes in one frontmark, called MK1 660. The 6” x 60 smoke is presented in a uniquely-designed, GT-inspired, 20-count box with classic Ford/Gulf colors and an interior that gives a nod to the GT’s tufted leather seats. The cigars will sell for an MSRP of $13.99 apiece and will ship on September 1.
CAO cigars are distributed by General Cigar Company.
