Cigar News: Casa Caraballo Announces Two New Blends in Time for PCA

Casa Caraballo has announced two new blends, the Don Nelo and the Apache, to be showcased at this year’s Premium Cigar Association (PCA) trade show in Las Vegas, NV.


The Don Nelo

The Don Nelo will be an exclusive regular production blend from the Don Nelo Cigar Factory in Esteli Nicaragua. This Medium/Plus strength cigar is the product of one year of blending and using Mexican Maduro, and Habano Ecuador Tobacco. This Puro is spicy and complex, yet still refined in the retrohale.

Packaged in a Natural Wood, fully-dressed Hinge-box with white top and burgundy bottom, each cigar is encased in individual cellophane and barcoding.

The company notes that the Don Nelo will offer notes of spicy black and white peppers with a hint of earth tones that come through on the retrohale.

The Don Nelo will come in three wrapper varieties:

  1. The Maduro -Wrapper: Mexico Maduro 
  2. The Rosado – Wrapper: Habano Ecuador
  3. The Claro – Wrapper: Habano Ecuador Claro

The rest of the blend is described as:

  • Binder – Nicaragua/Jalapa
  • Filler – Nicaragua/Jalapa

Expressed in 3 Vitolas, the Don Nelo comes packaged in 20-count boxes:

  • Gordo (6 X 60) – MSRP $12.50
  • Toro (6 x 52) – MSRP $12.50
  • Torpedo (6 x 54) – MSRP $12.50

The Apache

The Apache will be a regular production cigar for the company and has a blend described as:

  • Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano 
  • Binder: Sumatra
  • Filler: Nicaraguan (Jalapa)

It will be expressed in 4 vitolas, each packaged in 10-count wooden boxes:
