Back in 2018, Crowned Heads released a brand inspired by and dedicated to its loyalists (the Crowned Heads ‘Court’) known as the CHC Reserve XVIII.
That cigar, was received well by the industry and received high marks from the media. Stogie Press rated it a 96 and stated:
“This cigar is certainly one of the best cigars to come out of Crowned Heads and as a tribute to its fans, the Crowned Heads team certainly delivered. There was a full body of balanced flavor through the journey with a solid medium strength that should be enjoyable to any cigar lover. “
The CHC Reserve XVIII also placed number 9 in our top 25 boutique cigars for 2018.
More For The Crowned Heads Court
As we approach the end of 2019, Crowned Heads has announced a limited edition follow-up to that original release. Once again it is dedicated to the ‘Crowned Heads ‘Court”. The new release is called CHC Reserve XVIII Full Court Press LE 2019. Yep, that is a mouth-full.
The CHC Reserve XVIII Full Court Press LE 2019 will have the same blend as the original but will be expressed in a 5 7/8 x 52 box pressed vitola.
- Wrapper – Mexican San Andrés
- Binder – Ecuadorian
- Filler – Nicaraguan
Crowned Heads describes this cigar as ‘a rich yet accessable medium-bodied expression that exudes a multi-layered flavor profile with hallmark balance‘.
According to Crowned Heads co-owner/founder, Jon Huber:
“The idea came to me last May during the NBA playoffs. Initially, I tossed the name out there somewhat as a corny double entendre, but the more I thought about it the more I like the idea of releasing a box-pressed expression of the CHC Reserve.
Once I smoked the sample it was a no-brainer to go to production.”
The limited release cigar is being manufactured at Tabacalera La Alianza, S.A. in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Industry icon, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo will supervise production.
The company is planning a production limit of 1,700 (12-count) boxes for a total of 20,400 cigars. MSRP has been set at $11.95/cigar.
