Cigar News: Crowned Heads Blood Medicine to Return as New Event Only Cigar

In 2015, Crowned Heads launched an event-only cigar named “Blood Medicine.” The original 6,000 cigar production expired by the end of that year and ‘Blood Medicine’ went on an indefinite hiatus.

Seven years later, Crowned Heads is pleased to announce the return of ‘Blood Medicine,’ resurrected once again to be available only at designated Crowned Heads retail tobacconist events. The 5″ x 50 cigar is an all new proprietary blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos manufactured at Tabacalera Pichardo, home to such Crowned Heads brands as Juarez, Mil Dias, and Serie E.

Blood Medicine’ takes it’s name from a three story building located on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. That building was originally built as a three-floor pharmacy in 1872 before being converted into a hotel in 1892. The hotel operated until the 1980’s, and in 1988 the building would be purchased and re-opened as Merchants Restaurant. Nashville’s music scene would attract some legendary musicians to stay at The Merchants Hotel over the years, including Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline. There are rumors that the building also served as a brothel and a casino over the years.

While many legendary tales exist about this historic building, including legends of Civil War ghosts that still wander the halls, evidence of the original pharmacy still exists. On the original exposed brick wall on the third floor of Merchants Restaurant, a portion of the painted words, “Blood Medicine,” remains still visible. Blood Medicine pays homage to the history of Crowned Heads’ home city of Nashville with a unique smoking experience.

The premiere of ‘Blood Medicine’ will take place as a soft launch on June 3, at a Crowned Heads event hosted by Squire Cigars in Santa Rosa, CA. For more information, please call (707) 573-8544.
