Cigar News: Crowned Heads Brings Back Le Careme Belicosos Finos

Back in May of 2017, I reviewed the Crowned Heads Le Carême Robusto and found it to be a very fine cigar. Now this week, Crowned heads announced they will be bringing back the Belicosos Finos vitola of this delicious smoke, which I have yet to enjoy. Well actually, the Le Carême Belicosos was introduced as a limited edition vitola to the line in 2018 and the company noted it ‘became a cigar enthusiast favorite‘.

The original Le Carême Belicosos Finos was introduced in February of 2018 and according to the Crowned Heads, it “became a cigar enthusiast favorite’. In fact Halfwheel, awarded it a runner up in their 2018 cigar of the year rankings.

In a press release, Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber commented:

“When we released the 2018 LE, we knew we had something special, but we really had no idea that the Le Carême Belicosos Fino would go on to do what it did.

We actually had made the decision to produce the LE 2019 in September of last year, well before the annual ‘awards season’ came into play. We also made the decision early on to increase the total production for 2019.”

The Le Carême Belicosos Finos will be the same 5.5 x 52 round format (the rest of the line is a as the 2018 variety with a blend described as:

  • Wrapper – Grade A Dark Connecticut Broadleaf
  • Binder – Ecuadorian Sumatra
  • Filler – Nicaraguan

The company has set a production limit to just 2,500 (12-count) boxes for a total of 30,000 cigars. The MSRP has been set at $10.00/cigar or $120.00/box.

Also in the press release, the company noted:

“The Le Carême Belicosos Finos LE 2019 is manufactured at Tabacalera La Alianza, S.A., Santiago, Dominican Republic, under the supervision of premium cigar industry icon, Ernesto Perez-Carillo.”
