Cigar News: Dissident Debuting Limited Release Home at IPCPR 2019

At the beginning of 2019, it was announced that Dissident Cigars, an Ultra Boutique brand was acquired by Benjamin Holt, a sales representative for Boutiques Unified.

In a press release in January, Holt stated:

I have always thought that Dissident had huge potential and in time I would like to bring this brand back into the market. There are numerous objectives that need to be met first before that can happen and I am working with some incredible people to see that come to pass.”

Now, six months later, Holt and his recently acquired Dissident Cigar Company, have announced they will be releasing a limited production cigar at the IPCPR 2019. The cigar known as Home, is produced at Fabrica Oveja Negra, and is described as a full bodied, full flavor cigar that highlights an Ecuador Maduro wrapper with a Corojo spiral. All filler tobacco is 100 percent grown in Esteli.

Ben Holt, owner of Dissident, stated in the press release;

“In the process of blending this cigar I really tried to focus on what the name Home meant to me in the context of cigars. I kept reflecting back on how much I love Esteli tobacco and the first time I spent at Fabrica Oveja Negra.

Fabrica Oveja Negra creates fantastic artisan cigars and it instantly became a no brainer for me to highlight these tobaccos in this way. I’m very proud of this cigar and how it brings out the flavor that I feel is the taste of Esteli.”

The blend is described as:

  • Wrapper – Ecuador Maduro & Corojo
  • Binder – Ecuador
  • Filler – Nicaragua

Home will be released in a single Box Press (6 x 54) Toro vitola and will come packaged in a 20-count box. The company has set an MSRP of $14.00/cigar.

Dissident Cigars will be present in Booth 2463 at the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show.
