Mombacho Cigars has announced it will be releasing the fourth edition of its Cosecha annual limited edition. This years edition will be constructed entirely of tobaccos from the 2015 crop and as in previous vintages, it will be a Nicaraguan puro.
Claudio Sgroi, Mombacho’s President and Master Blender Claudio Sgroi noted:
“True vintage is almost impossible to find in the cigar industry and we have created a cigar that showcases the best Nicaraguan tobaccos with Cosecha.
The cigars get their name from the Spanish word for “harvest,” which denotes the special nature of the Cosecha line of cigars, which are made entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos from a single year’s crop. “Cosecha 2012, Cosecha 2013 and Cosecha 2014 surprised aficionados. Cosecha is a project that has been in my heart since the day I started working with Mombacho.”
This years vintage were produced several years ago and have been aging ever since in the Mombacho Casa Favilli factory aging rooms since then.
“When accessing the potential for any new Cosecha Vintage, I first determine the conditions, yields and specific qualities of that year’s tobacco crop in Nicaragua. In 2015, I discovered an excellent, Cosecha-worthy crop, albeit with a stronger tobacco than recent years. I identified and worked with these characteristics allowing for the strongest Cosecha Vintage in history.”
The Cosecha 2015 is described as “strong but balanced” and you can expect notes of dark chocolate and wood.
The full blend of the Cosecha 2015 is described as:
- Wrapper – Nicaraguan (Jalapa – 2015)
- Binder – Nicaraguan (Jalapa – 2015)
- Filler – Nicaraguan (Esteli, Condega & Jalapa – 2015)
Available in a single 6 x 52 toro vitola finished with a pigtail cap, the Cosecha 2015 are packaged in 10-count boxes with an MSRP of $29.95 per cigar before state and local taxes.
The company has produced only 430 boxes for worldwide distribution.
