The family is growing. Starting this month, Nativo Casa de Marcas, the commercial arm of Joya de Nicaragua in Spain, will serve as the new commercial agent for Quesada Cigars in the Iberian Peninsula—one of the most respected and beloved cigar houses from the Dominican Republic. This alliance marks a milestone for Nativo, which until now had exclusively represented Nicaraguan brands, and now welcomes a line that enriches its portfolio with the elegance and legacy of Dominican tobacco.

Because when lineage becomes legend, everything falls into place.
And when you have the chance to be part of that legend, you take it.
Contact the Nativo team and join this new chapter.
This isn’t just a brand. It’s a family. And it’s back
For those who know the industry, the name Quesada evokes tradition, refinement, and a family history that began in the 19th century, when a debt was paid in tobacco leaves. Five generations later, from their independent factory in Santiago de los Caballeros, Quesada continues to build its legend with every vitola: honest, elegant cigars full of soul.

The decision to join forces was far from random. In the words of Daniel Barrios, from Nativo Casa de Marcas:
“We share with Quesada not only a vision of how tobacco should be crafted, but also a shared philosophy on life: friendship, respect, and long-term commitment as essential values. This partnership is born from affection, not just strategy. The Quesada family has always been close to our house, and they’re now here to stay. For Nativo, representing Quesada in Spain is an honor that connects us with the living history of this market.”
From Quesada Cigars, it took many months to reflect on how to reclaim their space in a market where they were once a key reference. After years of inconsistent distribution, the answer became clear: return to their roots—to allies who truly understand the brand’s essence, to friends who know that crafting cigars is not just a business, but a soulful craft.
Manolo Quesada noted:
“Reuniting with Nativo felt like reuniting with ourselves. With friends who get us, who know that lineage is not just inheritance—it’s purpose. Spain has always been a vital part of our story, not only as a market but as part of our family roots. While I am Cuban, I am also deeply Spanish. That’s why returning now, at this stage of my life, with my daughters leading the future of the company, is deeply emotional for me. It feels like closing a circle. And doing it hand in hand with Nativo, with whom we share so many values and memories, reignites my passion for this industry I love so much.”

The commercial operation will be supported by Nativo’s experienced sales force and their logistics partner COMET, another long-time friend of the Quesada family. In this initial phase, the brand’s established portfolio in Spain will remain:
- Casa Magna Colorado (robusto and torito)
- Casa Magna Liga F (robusto and toro)
- Quesada Oktoberfest (Bavarian)
- Quesada Edición España (robusto)
This new stage aims to reconnect with tobacconists who trusted the brand for years, and with consumers who have always appreciated its quality. With renewed presence, a strong commercial structure, and a clear brand story, Quesada Cigars returns to Spain backed by a house that understands cigars, respect, and the value of well-spent time.

Patricia Quesada commented:
“It brings me great joy to visit Spanish tobacconists once again, where I have so many friends—this time alongside a team I’ll personally support in this new chapter. At Quesada, as at Nativo, we know that the Spanish market is more than just a commercial destination: it’s a symbol. A global benchmark. That’s why returning here is not just a priority—it’s a privilege.”

Juan Ignacio Martínez added:
“Quesada and Joya de Nicaragua share a story of collaboration that dates back to the early 2000s, when both houses first worked together. Today, that bond is renewed with new generations at the helm— more experienced, yet with the same passion for handmade cigars. At Joya, we celebrate this reunion as a natural step in our brands’ evolution, and as an opportunity to continue building a shared legacy in a market as emblematic and demanding as Spain.”
Nativo Casa de Marcas will officially begin representing Casa Magna and Quesada brands across Spain starting August 1st
