Cigar News: Two Years in Waiting – Crowned Heads Announces Four Kicks Mule Kick 2022

For the first time since 2020, and for only the sixth time since 2012, Crowned Heads will be releasing the popular limited release extension to its Four Kicks brand, Mule Kick.

The original Four Kicks Mule Kick (2012) featured an Habano wrapper that was deemed too dark for the regular production Four Kicks brand, and a slightly altered binder-filler combination. Released in November of 2012, the original Mule Kick production was limited to 500 (10-count) boxes. That same blend would be re-released again in 2017. From 2018-2020, the Mule Kick blend would appear annually, each year with a different wrapper leaf (CT Habano, Ecuadorian Sumatra, and Nicaraguan Jalapa, respectively).

For the first time in the brand’s history, the 2022 Mule Kick blend will feature a Mexican (San Andres) oscuro wrapper, while the binder-filler tobaccos will remain the same as the previous years releases.

Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber commented:

“We’re very excited to be bringing back the Mule Kick brand after a two year hiatus. We began working on this rendition late last year with Ernesto (Perez-Carrillo) and quickly discovered that the Mexican (San Andres) wrapper really complemented the Mule Kick blend; it lended a unique taste profile to the cigar that is unlike any previous Mule Kick version. The 2022 Mule Kick is impeccably balanced with great structure, and exhibits a nice smokey-spicy-sweet flavor profile.”

Total production of Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2022 will be limited to 4,000 (10-count) boxes, and will have an MSRP of $11 .95 per cigar. Manufactured at Tabacalera La Alianza, S.A. (Santiago, Dominican Republic), under the supervision of Cigar Aficionado Hall of Fame member, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, Mule Kick LE 2022 will begin shipping late April.
