Today I offer a review of yet another, Amendola Family Cigar Company craft. This time it is the Cremoso, one of the three “core blends” Amendola offers. As noted, the Amendola Cremoso is one of three blends in the core series joining the “Naturale” and the “Maturo”. The blend is described as:
- Wrapper – Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
- Binder – Nicaraguan
- Filler – Nicaraguan
The Cremoso is expressed in a single (6 x 52) toro vitola and comes packaged in a 20-count box. MSRP is set at $10.00 per cigar. The Cremoso along with all cigars in the Amendola Core Series are handcrafted in Nicaragua at Tabacos de Jalapa S.A./Aganorsa.
Pre-Light Examination
The Amendola Family Cigar Co. Cremoso is an inviting, Connecticut Shade cigar, with its smooth to the touch tan wrapper that has a mild sheen and minimal veins running through it. It is solid in the hand and seems to be well packed with no soft spots detected along the barrel. The cigar has an expertly applied triple cap to finish the presentation

A single white and gold band adorns the Cremoso, proudly displaying the company’s logo in gold on the front and the name “CREMOSO” printed below. The back of the band, like all Amendola cigars, displays a shield with the Italian flag colors, representing Jeffrey Amendola’s heritage.
As I ran the Cremoso under the nose, I quickly detected a slight sweetness along the barrel whilst the foot exuded a mildly pungent fermented leaf note along with a hint of nut and butter. Enticing, to say the least.
Once I sliced the cap straight across the shoulder of the cigar, I began to take to some cold draw puffs that I would described as a tad loose but filled with rich pepper notes and earth on the initial cold draws. As I kept cold puffing, there was a delicate sweetness hiding under the pepper that certainly peaked my interest as I prepared the Cremoso for a relaxing journey.
I used the soft flame of a cedar spill to to warm the foot, so as to not scorch the delicate wrapper. The first lit puffs of the journey offered notes of white pepper and floral – right out of the gate. Follow along as I take the Amendola Family Cigar Co. Cremoso down to the nub and burn it to ash.
Cigar Review Notes
- First light offers white pepper and floral notes
- Herbal notes join the mix quickly to add to the pleasure
- Light grey ash forms on a fairly straight and medium thick char line
- After about an inch of ash, the early pepper receded
- The ash fell in a decent chunk during the first third and revealed a well formed burn cone
- Herbal sweetness continues into second third
- Vanilla bean nuances entice the palate, keeping the interest peaked
- A mellow nut aroma starts to waft off the foot midway
- Cream notes (it is called the Cremoso for a reason) appear at the end of the second third
- Caramel notes join the profile making for a smooth finish
- Slight off burn in the final
- Mild to Medium in strength
- Total Smoking Time was just a tad over 1 hour
Overall, the Amendola Family Cigar Co. Cremoso has just the right mix of flavors and aromas to get your day started. I found the Cremoso to be moderately complex and light to medium in body. It is perfect to pair with a cup of morning coffee or espresso. It did have a slightly open draw that allows the cigar to burn a bit quicker than I would expect but I would still say this is worth picking a five pack of. I rate this a 91.
