Recently, Davidoff has been revisiting their iconic White band vitolas and rolling out limited edition cigars in this bold and flavorful blend featuring their legendary 151 wrapper. This year we have been introduced to the Limited Millennium Lancero, the second release out of a series of 4 exclusive limited editions of the Davidoff White Band Collection.
As Davidoff continues to roll out
“Back in its day, “Millennium Blend Lancero” was the most popular format to fully enjoy the legendary 151 wrapper. Today, we bring back this balanced taste experience in the Davidoff Millennium Lancero Limited Edition Collection.“
I was personally introduced to the Davidoff Millennial Lancero by my local tobacconist, George Ngo, at Executive Cigar Shop and Lounge here in Melbourne, Florida. I will say, it took just one of these for me to want to purchase another, which I did for the purpose of this review.
The Davidoff Millennial Lancero has a blend described as:
- Wrapper – Ecuadorian 151
- Binder – Mexican Sumatra seco
- Filler – Dominican Republic (Piloto mejorado seco, Piloto seco, San Vincente viso, Yamasa ligero)
They are expressed in (7 x 40) Lancero vitola and come packaged in 10-count box. Davidoff notes that only 14,600 boxes made, I will leave the mathematics up to you to know how many of these are in the market. As far as price goes, each cigar will set you back about $29.00 but with my lounge membership discount it cost me about $22.00.
Pre-Light Examination
The Davidoff Millennial Lancero is a beautifully constructed lancero with its dark brown and oily wrapper, perfect pigtail cap, invisible seams and essentially no noticeable veins., A little squeeze here and there reveals no soft spots in the construction. This is what I expect from an ultra premium cigar from Davidoff.
There are two bands that adorn the cigar. Both use a white and gold motif with the primary band being the classic Davidoff brandmark. The secondary band is placed below the primary and declares it as the “Millennial Lancero” in gold print on a white background.
Running the Davidoff Millennial Lancero along the nose, I was greeted with rich cocoa notes and spice along the barrel with complimentary cocoa notes off the foot.
Using my CigarMedics Baller cutter, I opened the cap perfectly and gave it some cold draw puffs that were just as pleasing as the pre-light aroma. The draw was spot on with restriction and graced the palate with a salty butter note and a growing peppery spice off each draw.
I used my single flame torch to toast the foot into an even orange glow as i drew in the the first puffs of pepper and earth to start the journey. Follow along as burn this one to ash!

Final Analysis
What can one say when you smoke a cigar as stellar as the Davidoff Millennial Lancero. This is a not only a complex and balanced blend of flavors and aromas but also a very well behaved and constructed lancero. Pepper and earth start the thrilling journey, bringing with them an array of sensational flavors. Savory spice notes burst onto the scene as hints of cocoa make their way into the mix, overlaying a delightful burst of fruity goodness. The smoke is thick and chewy throughout the experience. Mild oak notes complement the overall experience, adding depth and character to the adventure.
As the journey progresses, vanilla notes make their entrance, ushering in a new wave of excitement as the early cocoa flavor morphs into a pleasant dark chocolate note in the second quarter, satisfying the taste buds in the most delightful way possible. The aroma of maple syrup wafts off the foot, enticing the senses and adding to the already mesmerizing experience. Continued spice lingers on the finish, providing a perfect balance to the overall flavor profile. Just when you thought it gave all it could, the final quarter delivers anise notes, introducing a new dimension to the already amazing flavors as caramel notes add to the pleasure, creating a truly unforgettable experience. The Davidoff Millennial Lancero provides an explosion of flavor that leaves the taste buds craving for more and that is why this is a box buy for sure and is rated a solid 98.
