At the 2025 PCA, Luciano Cigars, part of the Constella Group, introduced a new cigar known as the Machinist to honor the men and women who keep our world running.

The Machinist is inspired by the life and legacy of Jack Beaver, the grandfather of Josh Beaver, national key account manager for Constella USA. The company describes him as “a machinist, family man, and quiet example of perseverance, grit and generosity.” The company stated that the line is more than a nod to a profession; it’s a tribute to a way of life defined by discipline, humility, and purpose
Luciano Meirelles, founder of Luciano Cigars and co-founder of Constella USA, stated:
“We honor history not as something behind us, but as the foundation beneath us. The Machinist is a tribute to the men and women whose hands shaped this country—and to those still shaping it today. Machinists, welders, farmers, truckers—people who carry on a legacy of resilience and purpose. They don’t just build—they sustain.”
The Machinist has a rich, multi country blend described as:
- Wrapper – San Andres Viso
- Binder – Ecuadorian Sumatra viso and Indonesian Sumatra
- Filler – Pennsylvania, the Dominican Republic, and South Africa
The Machinist is offered in three vitolas, each packaged in 20-count boxes:
- Gordo (6 x 60) – MSRP $13.00
- Magnum (5 1/4 x 54) – MSRP $11.00
- Toro (6 x 52) – MSRP$11.50
Josh Beaver added:
“My grandfather never asked for recognition, but he earned respect, I believe this cigar is a tribute to his generation and to everyone who wakes up early, clocks in, and gives more than they take. If he were here, he wouldn’t brag about it—he’d just light one up after a long day and smile.”
The cigars are hand crafted at an undisclosed factory in the Dominican Republic and are a regular production line for the company.
For this review, I sampled two of The Machinist Toros which I received from the company for the purpose of reviewing on Stogie Press.
Pre-Light Examination
The Machinist, by Luciano Cigars, features a rich, deep chocolate brown wrapper that is slightly oily, with a few visible veins and bumps, along with a decent amount of toothiness. The cigar feels firm to the touch, with a slight give when squeezed. A simple cap completes the construction.

Two Bands adorn the cigar. The primary band uses a steam punk motif displaying the name “The Machinist” in white on a black background with gold swirls. The secondary gold band is placed just below the primary and defines this as a Luciano product.

Running the cigar along the nose, I picked up butter notes off the barrel and a rich barnyard notes off the foot.
I sliced the cap straight across the shoulder of the cigar and gave it some cold draw puffs that imparted notes of subtle sweetness and a mild, earthy undertone. There’s a faint hint of cocoa and a touch of dried fruit.
I used my single flame torch to warm the foot to an even orange glow and drew in the first puffs of pepper to start the journey. Follow along as I burn this one to ash.

Final Analysis

The Luciano Cigars “The Machinist” offers a well-balanced and flavorful journey, with an interesting combination of earthiness, sweetness, spice, and creamy richness. The diverse fillers from Pennsylvania, the Dominican Republic, and South Africa round out the flavor profile with earthy, nutty, and herbal notes.
Overall, this cigar is a great choice for those who enjoy a full-bodied smoke with a lot of depth. It offers a wide range of flavors that evolve throughout the journey, making it a choice cigar for both seasoned aficionados and those looking to explore a complex, flavorful cigar.
I would pair this with a dark, aged rum to bring out the cigar’s chocolate, coffee, and nutty notes while smoothing out the spice. Try: Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, Zacapa 23. If you prefer a stronger spirit, go with a Rye Whiskey to complement the peppery and earthy elements in the cigar, especially as it transitions into the second and final thirds.
I rate this a solid 96 and suggest grabbing a box. It would be fun to see how these further age.
