Stogie Press has been reporting on the FDA deeming cigar regulations for over a year and today we have learned that the FDA has passed the regulation onto the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). What exactly does this mean? Well, it is the next phase of the cycle. It means another waiting period and more review and discussion. it’s how the Government works.
The OMB has not set a date for completing its review but we do know that the OMB is the organization that plans, organizes, and executes the annual and multi year budgeting for the FDA. So we know we are one step closer but that is all we know.
Perhaps this cycle will not be such a long wait as the industry is still waiting to make decisions that affect businesses across the country. This is just as bad as the Fed not making a decision to raise interest rates. Businesses can’t properly plan until the final ruling is in place.
Meanwhile, continue to enjoy those cigars and support your brands and local brick and mortar shops.
