Fratello Cigars to Launch Navetta Inverso at the 2018 IPCPR

Coming off a rocking 2017 IPCPR, Omar de Frias  and his Fratello Cigar Company is set to launch their latest creation, the Navetta Inverso at this years International Premium Cigar and Pipe (IPCPR) Association Trade Show starting July 14, 2018.

You may be familiar with the original Fratello Navetta that was launched last year at the 2017 IPCPR. That cigar was a project  where Omar paid tribute to his years working for NASA. The word Navetta is Italian for “shuttle” and each vitola in the line was named after a NASA space shuttle.

Now Omar has decided to reverse the course of the shuttle and take the blend and invert all the tobacco. The new blend is called the Navetta Inverso which translates in Italian to “inversed shuttle”.

According to Omar:

The result of this change was incredible. It does not seize to amaze me how one leaf of tobacco can change a blend entirely.  In our case we changed it all.

Reality is when you use well fermented and aged tobaccos, the likelihood that the cigar will be great is high”

The blend of the Navetta Inverso is described as:

  • Wrapper – Nicaraguan habano
  • Binder – Ecuador
  • Filler – Dominican and Nicaragua

The Navetta Inverso will be available in 3 vitolas:

  • Corona Gorda (5 7/8 x 46) MSRP $9.50
  • Robusto (5 ½ x 54) MSRP $11.25
  • Toro Grande (6 ¼ x 54) MSRP $12.50

The Navetta Inverso is manufactured at Joya de Nicaragua and will be available for shipment in September.  Omar de Frias worked at NASA for 12 years prior to leaving to focus full-time on Fratello.
