Gran Habano Cigars has announced they will be expanding their cigar portfolio to include the new Gran Reserva #5 2012 which will be presented at this years IPCPR in Las Vegas in July.
This cigar will be similar to the Gran Reserva #5 2011. The date 2012 refers to the year that the cigar was made. Gran Habano takes the 10% best tobacco from what they use for the Corojo #5 and then age it 7-8 years, and then it is rolled. The final cigars are then aged 3-5 years. The Gran Reserva 2012 has been aged for 6 years.
According to the Gran Habano Cigars:
“These cigars offer a bold new experience in full-bodied premium cigars made with vintage tobaccos. Expect a remarkably smooth, earthy and spicy smoke, accompanied by notes of sweet wood and espresso of this aged smoke.”
The company describes the blend as the same as the Gran Reserva #5 2011:
- Wrapper – Nicaraguan
- Binder – Nicaraguan
- Filler – Nicaraguan and Costa Rican
Available in 20-count boxes, the Gran Reserva #5 2012 will come in the same 5 vitolas as the Gran Reserva #5 2011 variety:
- Corona Gorda – 5 5/8 x 46
- Gran Robusto – 6 x 54
- Imperial – 6 x 60
- Czar – 6 x 66
- Grandioso – 7 x 70
The retail price has been set at a MSRP between $8.00-$11.00 USD.
