We have finally made it home from the 2018 IPCPR Trade Show and I have been going through the many photos and videos we took during the event.
To begin our coverage of this years show I would like to start with the presentation of the 2017 Boutique Cigar of the Year. One of our first stops was Foundation Cigar Company and owner Nick Melillo. Even though Nicks’ company is just 4 years old, Nick and his team have made waves in the industry and last year we unanimously selected the Wise Man Maduro as the Stogie Press #1 Boutique Cigar of the year.

After the award was presented, I let Nick go off to conduct his business of the week and we caught up later to sit down and discuss the past, present, and future of the Foundation Cigar Company. If the lyrics were not already taken, I think Nick would say the future is so bright, he has to wear shades. In this interview, Nick talks about the love of his grandfather, the events in Nicaragua, and a special Cuban seed tobacco Tabernacle blend that is being worked on.
We are looking forward to reviewing the new Wise Man Maduro Lancero and see how it stands up to the number of other lanceros that have hit the market in 2018. I would like to thank Nick for taking the time out of his busy schedule to talk to us.
